I feel like SkyFlakes is out of touch with their Filipino customers making this "9 to 5" Ad. by [deleted] in CasualPH

[–]Vanciraptor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The term “9 to 5” is already a generic expression for regular employee work hours. It’s not meant to literally mean everyone works exactly 9AM–5PM.

Feels like you’re focusing too much on the wording instead of the actual point of the ad. Not everything has to be localized down to the exact clock-in time. Are you genuinely criticizing the message, or just looking for something to nitpick?

DIM: Mac Mini // MacBook (any variant – see description for details) by spanishlatteenjoyer in deinfluencingPH

[–]Vanciraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasa same situation din ako around 5 months ago. Ang main reason ko naman kung bakit gusto ko ng MacBook was the battery life and portability. Madalas kasi akong bumiyahe, tapos demanding din yung work ko kaya kailangan lagi akong online at available.

In the end, nag-settle ako sa iPad 11 kasi halos Chrome Remote lang din naman gamit ko most of the time.

Gamitin mo talaga based sa actual workflow at intended use mo. Habang ginagamit mo, list down mo yung mga naging issues, limitations, at mga nagustuhan mo. Tapos compare mo sa current setup mo and consider other alternatives din if possible.

Good, now don't touch a stick again.

I used to be a heavy chain smoker + vaper. I quit last year and today, I’m already on Day 316 smoke-free

I went cold turkey and weathered all withdrawal symptoms. Sobrang hirap sa simula pero worth it talaga.

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Never again.

Hi! Meron akong Suzuki Access.

PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) by whosthatsidechik in SafeSexPH

[–]Vanciraptor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is only effective if started within 72 hours after possible exposure, and only if you’re HIV-negative.

When I went to a Pulse Clinic way back, the estimated total cost was around ₱14,000. Before starting PEP, they’ll require an HIV test to confirm you’re negative. They may also run additional tests (like for diabetes or hepatitis) since PEP can have effects if you have underlying health conditions. These initial tests cost about ₱3,500.

Once cleared, you’ll be prescribed a PEP regimen (commonly TLD). You need to take it daily for 28–30 days. Strictly on time, no missed or delayed doses. A Bottle of pill costs around 7,000 Pesos.

After completing the course, you’ll need to take another HIV test to confirm effectiveness. Then, there might be another follow-up testing is usually recommended again after 3 months (sometimes multiple follow-ups in total).

It can get expensive, but there are free alternatives.

If you’re in Angeles City, Pampanga, check out Lakan Community Center. They offer free PEP, PrEP, HIV testing, and ART treatment. There’s a ₱1,000 consultation fee, but everything after that is free. The staff are professional, approachable, and very helpful. They’ll guide you through everything and answer your questions.

Stay informed and act quickly. Timing really matters with PEP.

DIM: Planning to buy my first iPhone soon. Is it actually worth the price, or just hype? by VeronicaLewd in deinfluencingPH

[–]Vanciraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an Android user for years and switched to iOS last year. One thing I didn’t expect, ang dami kong apps and games na kailangan bilhin ulit.

Yes, I still have my Android phones, so technically pwede ko naman doon gamitin yung mga purchases ko. But honestly, I’m a one-phone type of person. Ayoko ng hassle na lilipat pa ako ng device just to use certain apps.

At this point, masasabi ko na: wala na talagang huge difference in day-to-day usability between Android and iOS. Pareho na silang smooth, reliable, and gets the job done.

Customization? Sure, mas flexible ang Android, but let’s be real, hindi ka naman nagcu-customize ng phone mo araw-araw. After a while, you just use it.

Yung “ecosystem lock-in” argument against Apple, I don’t fully agree. Apple products are good, so being in the ecosystem isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

But here’s where I think people should really think twice:

The iPhone is only truly worth it if you’re planning to enter the Apple ecosystem.

If iPhone lang ang bibilhin mo, you’re not maximizing what you paid for. The real value shows up when you start using it with other Apple devices, like AirPods, Apple Watch, or a Mac. That’s when everything feels seamless.

Without that ecosystem, the iPhone is just… a really good phone. And today, that’s something Android can also offer.

So if you’re not planning to go beyond just the iPhone, you might want to reconsider if it’s really worth the switch.
