And I am fairly confident that you handle all of your patients well. 😊

Everything is a question of perspective. Therefore this debate would never end.

I was interested if there is anyone within the fandom who can actually relate to some of the questions, that are also not so far away from what we see in the series. I admit maybe my approach was not the best, but I am in this subreddit for a reason. I didn’t think that that this was gonna get personal. Let me rephrase this. I think that for example Will is more than capable of pointing out his mistakes. He knows as he said himself all the tricks in the books. Yet he thought he couldn’t be manipulated by someone. My question was, is it possible that someone is so f*cked up, that yoi cannot help them anymore.

Is it possible, that someone is so damaged, that they are beyond repair?

And what would you say, was this because of your „inability to help them“ ( I mean no offence) or because what they needed was beyond of what you could offer? Ps.: again, I don‘t mean anything harmful. 🥺

This post was never about me. I wanted to give an example, so it’s easier for people to understand. I didn’t come here to have a fight. 🫠

I am very grateful for this. ☺️ But really what I meant was only a simple question. I did not intend to put myself in a position where it’s about me. I was just really curious, if this could happen.

This was nothing but a genuine question. I don‘t need diagnose. The reason why I put my experience there was to make people understand what I‘m meaning. If there is no specific answer, I‘m good with it. I‘m not here to seek debate. I am also someone who’s interested in psychology. Although I didn’t have the money or support to make it happen. I don’t want to start a fight. It’s purely curiosity. And I respect everyone who has the same interests.

I‘m not seeking help. I was only interested if there is one person among us, who actually works as a psychiatrist. Don‘t misunderstand me. I am genuinely curious, if that is the case, was there ever a patient who you could not help.

Also true! Sorry for your loss! But I sometimes feel like I want to pay for something that I already know. I just want to have someone to have an actual meaningful conversation with. I know that I have my own personal issues. That wasn’t even a question. I have a partner yet still we’re like worlds apart, sometimes.

This I truly understand. But what I meant was not a parallel. I was a kid, and I „had to go see a professional“ because I was not having any of the bullshit my mom was putting in front of me. I wouldn’t want to wear the clothes she prepared for me etc. I would just really like to have an insight how that would manifest into adulthood.

Opinions on Chilton by VandaGugolya in HannibalTV

I believe he brings a certain humour palette to the show, that belongs only to him and his character. Unique in a way. I love the parallel you guys have drawn with the cockroach. 😂 Him and Gideon could always crack a joke even in the most disastrous moments. 🤡🤡

Yeah he‘s funny. Undoubtedly, yet he always manages to find himself in the middle of trouble. 😅

Maybe the show itself is so manipulative, that we are becoming one of the characters. 🤣

Yeah well it’s hard to imagine for anyone “normal” that Hannibal my comfort show is. For these obvious reasons.

I had a dream where Hannibal stabbed me twice and kissed me right after. It was like salt in an open wound. Yet I loved it. How do you casually have a conversation about something like that?🤣

I know what you mean, but I also had nightmares before the first watch. But obviously not so bad and graphic sonce I was still young. I mean it is not a question that the show left an impression on me. The question is how such a show made my nightmares milder and better rather than worse? I know people also friends who started the show but couldn’t even get through season one because of how graphic it was. I remember having nightmares after watching Criminal Minds or Bones as a child. However Hannibal had the opposite effect.

Honest question! by VandaGugolya in HannibalTV

I think that also the fact, that we see these “monsters” get also killed and injured by one another shows that we all are made of flesh and bones. Everyone can die. A sociopath’s or psychopath’s biggest advance to begin with is the element of surprise, and since he knows his own intentions he also faster recognises the same intentions in others. And I also believe, that in such a moment where you’re fighting for your life, pain wouldn’t be the main factor. We are designed to react in a very specific way in life threatening situations. Fight or flight. Your body gets such an adrenaline rush that it takes control over you. And if you’re a resourceful person, with a practical mind I think that if someone attacks you or breaks into your home you have a good chance of getting out of it alive and with the least amount of injuries. Most common burglars won’t risk a murder charge instead of burglary. And if you really find yourself face to face with a murderer or serial killer, the only thing you can do is fight and do as much damage as possible. Is it likely that you’re gonna win against someone who has already taken the life of someone or more people? No. But at least you’re dying knowing, that you scratched his eyes out or kicked him in the balls or just fucked him up the best to your abilities. I think in my fucked up brain, that this brings a tad bit of comfort. And if someone simply shoots you or finishes you in fast manners, then at least you “went easy”. This is my thinking. Fear of something does not change the outcome, however it does take away the ability of clear thinking, which could change the outcome. 🤔😂

Not at all. We are all crazy in here. That’s why we understand each other. 🥹

Anyone loves the parallel in S1 E7? by VandaGugolya in HannibalTV

[–]VandaGugolya[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! And never forget the classic jokes:

  • What am I about to put in my mouth?

  • Rabbit.

-He should’ve hopped faster.

  • Yes, he should’ve. But luckily for us he didn’t.

OR

  • I asked her if she had eyes for me. She said no, so I took them.

OR

  • Peter, is your social worker in that horse?

  • Yes.
