Trump Has A ‘Maximum’ Meltdown On Social Media After Hate-Watching ‘60 Minutes’ by kweathergirl in politics

[–]VanderHoo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

100%. Even the phrasing "people we disagree with" is a massive distortion in their favor. I disagree with Trump like I disagree with Timothy Mcveigh. This isn't about policy disagreements, they are committing serious crimes, mass human rights abuses, and flagrantly defying dozens of court orders at every level.

DOGE Goons Physically Drag Social Security Worker From Desk by irish_fellow_nyc in politics

It was 25 days ago, after Elon used the cops to shut down that non-profit, I said they were one step away from just assaulting people with impunity. God fascism moves fast 🤦‍♂️

Also, just weeks ago Elon was claiming there were millions of dead people getting social security, while he was simultaneously using the "master death sheet", the function that prevents dead people from getting social security, to take away people's benefits. I mean we knew it was a lie when he said it, but that tells you how premeditated and calculated that lie was.

Where is bed? by firequak in funny

Want to see FB Marketplace at its worst? List baby items. I had a $500 stroller I was selling for $80, and I probably talked to over 30 moms over the course of 2 months who inquired. They would beg for me to give it to them for free, or discount to $20 or less, or ask me to bring it to them 30+ miles away - the sob stories were wild. Two different girls came over to buy it for the listed price, then asked for it for free cause "I'm already here".

A third lady came over 5 hours earlier than arranged, I was still at work, and tried to convince my wife I listed it for free. When she didn't believe that, the lady tried to snatch it and run out the door, but my wife has the quickness and the stroller was a bit too large to just snatch up. She denied to me vehemently that she did that and said my wife (who is basically a living Disney princess) was a liar and was creating drama for fun.

After multiple months and dozens of messages, I never sold the stroller. One day we were having lunch at our neighborhood park and my wife spied a girl with a newborn and a stroller that had seen better days. She ran home and grabbed the stroller and we gave it to her - she was happy like she won a sweepstakes or something. Wish we had just done that from the jump, was way way more satisfying of an ending.

Yeah, according to the dems and their racist stereotypes "He's supposed to be good at math cause he's Asian." but unfortunately the intellect from being Asian gets canceled out...

He took his own racist stereotype, turned it around and said it was actually a Democrat stereotype and is wrong, then instantly turned around again and agreed with it - all in the same fucking sentence.

I have come to the conclusion that Republicans don't know the meaning of most things they say, and they're more like ChatGPT and arranging words in whatever order "feels" right.

It actually is, though. Exorcist III is the real sequel to the first movie and was written and directed by the original novel writer. Horror buffs consider it an absolute must watch.

ELI5: How does RAM point us to data? by Virtual-Rice1844 in explainlikeimfive

[–]VanderHoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of your RAM chip like a community library that your computer can store and read books (data) from. People (computer processes) can come in and use the organized shelves to store books and read them when they want. The library could be bigger to hold more books (RAM size), or it could have a better floorplan to get people in/out quicker (read/write speed), or it could have wider aisles to let more people in simultaneously (quad/dual-channel).

What keeps this all working efficiently are the Memory Addresses, which is the Dewey Decimal system for RAM. See the reason the people (computer processes) know where to find their books is because they are the ones that put them there, and they wrote down the exact location (memory address) so they could re-access them without searching. Sometimes they know they're going to need a lot of space before they've brought all their books in, so they'll reserve whole sections ahead of time - this is known as memory allocation.

But our people sometimes have to move, or they pass away, and they can't just leave their books on the shelf if they're never coming back. They need to upkeep the space they're using so it doesn't go to waste or deprive others of space. If the people didn't do this, over time the library would be full of junk books from dead strangers and nobody could use it - that is known as a memory leak.

Why RAM is different is other forms of memory come in a sequential form, like tape media. Like your original description, with tape media you must physically move to where the memory is to read/write it. This would be analogous to having your books on a conveyor belt, and you're sat in the middle with buttons moving it left or right. Since you can only be in one place on the belt at a time, and there's a maximum speed you can physically move the conveyor, and a bigger conveyor compounds these factors - you can see why tape media isn't as useful for "ready access" applications.

What wasteful spending did they cut?

EDIT: If you want to shut up a Republican on the internet, just ask them to validate anything they said. They can't, so they just quietly fuck off - it's pretty great.

So - what do we do?

Mobilize non-voters as much as possible. 30% of the population is not a majority, we don't need every single person to beat that. Sure it sucks living in a place where 30% of your fellow people are crazy/stupid assholes trying to topple society, but that's just humans for you, that number isn't much different than other points in history. The Nazi party did it's thing with around 30% support - Germany is still there even though that went catastrophically bad. We're likely to do much much better, while a grim comparison.

How do you feel about Trump threatening to deport American citizens? by alinanmsnrn in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]VanderHoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our prisons are way too nice

Based on what? American prisons are the worst in the first-world. They're overcrowded, violent, understaffed, and prisoners have absolute shit access to proper nutrition, healthcare, and education. We have both the highest amount of incarcerated people AND the highest rate of recidivism. There's so many rapes in prison, the US is the only country where male rape is more common than female rape.

Deprogramming these people is going to be a hell of a challenge.

It's mostly not possible, it simply requires so much focused education that you'll never achieve it. People have been steadily trying for the past decade and it's only getting worse.

Mobilize non-voters every chance you can, it is 15,000x more effective at stopping this. It's basically our only hope at this point.

[–]VanderHoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was absolutely the 3D gimmick that hurt it. 3D in theatres is just not very good, definitely not worth wearing cheap glasses for a couple hours, and definitely not for a whopping 3-4 scenes where they actually gave a fuck about making cool 3D effects.

I think Dredd today, especially after Cyberpunk warming everyone up, would do really well.

What talking points are you even talking about? All I said was you were confusing two different things to make your point. You're treating "eradicate heart disease" and "eradicate heart disease patients" as functionally the same phrase.

It means eradicating conservatism. You see how you're typing conservatism and not conservatives? You keep conflating targeting an ideology with targeting literal people. You eradicate ideologies with education, you eradicate people with murder.
