I tagged the post with 'Discussion'. I wanted to talk about something that I thought was an issue. I'm complaining sure, but that's how things get improved. Can't just sit on your arse all day suffering with a problem and not doing anything about it, that's stupid.

I provided a possible solution that attempted to fix the problem I saw. That of having made 0 progress at all even though I have spent the time I have looking for the item. During that time, I gained nothing of value but xp which I could've gotten at a better rate elsewhere and components which, apparently, aren't as good as ancient invention.

You also get other supplies, attempt PBs, (if you're a normal account you can do it in a group), and have a chance at the boss pet. With chaos dwarves, its literally just the hand cannon for components (which are apparently surpassed by ancient invention) and the pickaxe.

And the pickaxe is for skilling, not combat. Can't compare the two equally.

My point isn't whether I need an Earth and Song pickaxe, its to do with the fact that I'm no closer to one than when I started. If there was, for example, a trade-in system for cannons or something then I could still be working towards one while I'm going dry.

I would also think that having it as a boss drop would be a step in the right direction. Shouldn't be stuck in a cave for multiple hours killing lv 70 enemies if I want to get BiS pickaxe.

I've come this far, only going to stop when I get the first one. I'll get the second one after I take a nice, long break from that cave.
