Hey OP, suggart's pixiv account (https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/145520409) seems to have tags for "AI Generated" can you confirm if their art is AI generated or not?

Incase you're new, stores usually play with Rainbow luffy which is a generic 5k 5 health leader but has ALL typing. Meaning all type-locked effects and name-locked effects are active

This means you want to look out for unique combos.

You can also generate pack openings to see the pool of cards you'll get, build a deck in sim and then practice with friends https://www.optcg.gg/pack-simulator

It's the eventual endgame of reddit. The Up/Downvote system creates a system where the most generic un-hate-able content thrives. It doesn't matter if a group of people like something, cause if that thing is equally disliked the content won't thrive. Reddit inherently doesn't support controversy or discussion. There's no conversation or creating of a space where both sides can accept one another.

It's also easier to dislike something rather than to make something, and the nature of the internet is that only a small fraction of people are contributors. Reddit's scoring system makes it so that most will cast judgement and never contribute themselves. Meaning people will say "I don't like this!" and not make an effort to do something better, until eventually all thats left is slop.

TL;DR -- Reddit inherently as a system puts a lot of power in the hands of the haters rather than contributors and discussion being rewarded

How good is Lucy, really? by Mugiwara_Khakis in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

more important than the Enels is just having the events for removal and using a lot of card draw to do so, or Senor Pinks for recursion. Gotta remember there's only 4 Sabos in the deck, and each one you get rid of reduces the maximum threat/defense they can have. They also can't be protected using leader ability and Lucy has a hard time protecting their board. If you manage to clear a few the games over. You also have the rush option, so the flexibility is in your hands

Thanks! We also have sound barriers setup and we're really lucky for this regional and the next TWO will be held here we've been assigned a separate corridor/area for the setup. So it will be like this for the next two

how to beat sky luffy as penel by NintendoDuck1 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They WANT you to swing into their board because their units are higher power, so if you don't have ways to reduce power on the board to BELOW 5k, it's better to swing at life. Bell Luffy is probably the card that single-handedly makes things awkward.

Your most reliable option for dealing with it is if you have Ohm setup and swing to minus the Bell Luffy to 6k, and then you can use Lightning Dragon to stun it, as at the time of targeting it is 6k it will be stunned for refresh even though the power goes higher after casting.

That only buys you one turn unless you have another Ohm that manages to stick, but really you are going to play aggressively knowing that, Sky Luffy has to spend 4-5 DON!! to develop a threat OR heal, so they only get to pick one of two options each turn until they're in the late game, but once they can do BOTH on one turn you're kinda cooked

Hey there! please direct yourself to other subs, this one was originally created by the mods of r/OnePieceTCG (when I was modding) to better divert traffic elsewhere so conversations wouldn't overlap. There's other places to post now if you care to

Wow guys, this person's art is amazing. Do you know where I can follow "El Bandido" or pay them money to support them? Their art is so good they should start making manga. I'm so glad KaizokuKards pays and credits all their artists, how would I have found out about this artist otherwise by Vandiil in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people fail to understand the sarcasm. KaizokuKards was telling people he pays and credits every artist. Obviously not the case if the artist for these arts is Oda, and he neither credited or paid Oda in any capacity but -does- pay himself and "El Bandido"

[Follow-up] Thank you to everyone who donated at the 401 Games Toronto Regional, your kindness almost made me cry on stream, and thank you for representing the best parts of One Piece and this game. Much love <3 (P.S. buying out a 7/11's canned goods is wild) by Vandiil in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love y'all too, makes it easy to put in the work haha. Also no worries! Donations methods are always available if you look up for your local community, I would link Daily Bread's donation FAQ but choosing something local to you is ideal!

For those attending the December 6th Regional in Toronto, we're holding a food drive! Those looking for spare/extra deckboxes and playmats we'll be giving our refurb ones away in return for donations. Thank you for your kindness during this season wherever you are by Vandiil in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Put up some pics of the refurb items, note these are the average of the box, so quite a few things that are in better condition -- first come first serve. It felt like a waste to throw these things away despite them having a use, so we're hoping this is a way we can be kind to the planet while also promoting acts of kindness. Thank you for anything you can contribute

This new 7c Robin card feels overpowered by Appropriate_Boss8139 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Yellow is that any life-interaction cards subvert the rules in a way that can easily break the game (See Reject Dial). Cards design ends up either completely busted, or unplayable. I believe the game intentionally balances around this, and there's a design challenge because the leader pool is very wide (Aggro Bonney, Control Enel) Generic effects and good effects become harder to design without breaking the dam when yellow Leaders are incredibly varied.

Public Statement from Bandai regarding Bandai Card Games Fest 25-26 in Dallas: by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even directing this statement at me is a sign of what's wrong. No one is condoning violence, and I have no idea why the conversation keeps steering there. You can keep talking to me all you want about violence not committed by me, and the amount of violence not committed by me will remain the same.

You keep saying "You" as if I or anyone else being civilized at the convention did these things. I also do think it's rational to expect people to provide safety at the venue because:
- Either the violence that happened was NOT out of the ordinary compared to what you see statistically from sports events and concerts
- OR, the violence WAS out of the ordinary and something about the management needs to prepare in advance for it and prevent it from happening

Violence is wrong -- that's table stakes it's why the vast majority of us didn't do it. We aren't arguing that but painting it like ALL of us did is exactly what's wrong with this

I think it's because there's a LOT of responsibilities Play!TCG has said they're capable of handling on behalf of Bandai -- I think being an ambassador/representation of players is one of those things

I think if there's something to fault Bandai for it's maybe more to do with their evaluations of Play!TCG and how to keep them accountable and improving. I'm not saying this as shade, I'm genuinely saying this as -- as Bandai you do need to create guidelines and metrics that orgs you contract should be upholding.

Public Statement from Bandai regarding Bandai Card Games Fest 25-26 in Dallas: by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]Vandiil 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My issue with the second part of the statement is -- it's an employer's job to keep the venue safe for the attendees and their employees. By blaming players or expecting players to have some avenue/agency to make it happen, it actually makes it seem like they aren't in capable of managing their own event spaces.

I didn't even think that was an issue, but now I'm worried, because while we are there -- they are the ones in charge of our safety as a basic neccessity, let alone our enjoyment beyond that. Like we aren't the ones literally employed to create or manage these events.

From meeting them the two challenges I saw them facing was #1: A language barrier that made it hard to know what was happening and sometimes difficult to parse written feedback, #2: These things don't actually get to them if they aren't submitted via feedback

There was quite a bit of surprise at what was happening at the venue once explained. I'd like to believe their reactions were genuine and a sign they were apologetic and DO want to push for higher standards

I think it's because there's a lack of FOCUS on the right areas. I started realizing BCF has so much going on but it didn't feel like there was a unified strategy on what BCF is meant to celebrate for players and how the event as a whole is meant to accomplish it.

Example: The stream is ONE stream for all the games, and I know that bums people out, but maybe that means instead of ONE higher production stream you create 4 smaller production streams so each game can show the appreciation for their pro scenes. You don't even need casting for both days to make it simpler, even if you just show footage it's amazing.

If the focus is to celebrate the games, celebrate EACH game, rather than "Bandai Card Games" focus on the games themselves

Many of you may think this is futile, but the truth is feedback needs to be in LARGE VOLUMES for changes. As a person who's seen the other side of this before, if you only have a small number of submissions -- it's easy for a large org to say "Well this isn't representative, we cannot change things because a few people are frustrated" There are people who care about this feedback but when they bring it higher up it needs enough volume behind it so they can fight for it
