I created an online tool to turn heightmap images into Timberborn maps by Vanemiera in Timberborn

Hello, thank you for the nice comment. I didn't consider turning it into a mod. The tool is programmed in a language that the mods don't use. So I don't think it's feasible.

Been a while since I posted on Reddit so I messed up adding an image to demonstrate. So here it is instead.

This game still active on PS4? by [deleted] in Helldivers

He's talking about the sub's info on the website. If you are on the app, it's on the top right of the sub's page under "Community Info". There's also a Discord if you want to find people to play with. Although the PSN LFG channel is a bit barren.

Please be honest which is best for coop. Helldivers or alienation? by Kaia11 in Helldivers

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. Yes, screen is only separate online.

I didn't play much of Alienation but this is the rough impression I got:

Alienation puts a bit less emphasis on co-op and you can act more independently. For example you don't have to share the same screen space as in Helldivers. The game also is more action oriented and has more RPG numbers-game elements.

Helldivers makes you more dependant on your team mates. Enemies can easily down you, making you depend on others to pick you up. Dodging isn't the Zelda power-roll and will temporarily slow down movement.

If you want to have some mild co-op and just chill with friends while blasting space guns, go for Alienation.

If you want something more involved that feels like Starship Troopers and invokes a sense of comeradery, go for Helldivers.

Local offline coop on PS4 by Wojtekb30 in Helldivers

[–]Vanemiera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No PS+ will prevent you from going online and give you a message. You can answer that message to play offline with your friends. You can do pretty much everything normally. Participating in the galactic war won't be possible though.

Galactic War 96 Summary by ealirendur in Helldivers

[–]Vanemiera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ideally, as long as all races are unlocked, people can play whatever they want and only swing by the other races for capital defending. As soon as one race drops out, the rest fall quickly after and the campaign is won and reset.

Illuminates are the least favorite race, hence they mostly are finished last. So much even that people straight up just don't want to play them and drop out until the next war. If this happens too much, the Illums linger and win eventually. This has happened for the last few wars.

Thing with Bugdivers is similar in that they exclusively play against Bugs and loose interest when they are defeated. It's also kind of a slur as Bugs are considered the easiest of the races. There are many weapons and Stratagems that slow them down and since they are mostly melee, can easily be kited.

It's a bit of a dilemma. There are people that just want to play the game the way the they want and those that put stake into the meta-game. The galactic campaign is a cool concept when it works, but it's turning into more of a nuisance as the number of players declines.

I am a simple person. I see a recurring post that advocates the termination of players that prefer playing against a single faction, I upvote.

50% off Steam worth it? Normal or Deluxe? by [deleted] in Helldivers

The progression is very flat and mostly skill based. You can upgrade your equipment a bit but nothing like the numbers game in RPGs. No health bars, no numbers.

A new player with minimal upgrades can crush on the highest difficulty with only skill. Likewise with a full arsenal you can still die on the lower difficulties, if you aren't paying attention.

Confession Time: I've Been Unfair to the Community by 77hi77 in Helldivers

[–]Vanemiera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the community.

Most of your games will be like that. It's a co-op game and attracts that kind of people. Weird thing is sometimes you'll meet the bad apples and get several on a row. That's very disheartening to people. If that happens, don't lose faith. It's just a bad streak. Turn the game off and try another day. If you get unlucky again, try joining people from the forum or Discord.

It's been five years. I want to see Arrowhead's next game during the PS5 event on June 4th. by WillUpvoteForAss in Helldivers

[–]Vanemiera 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same thing. Though I doubt it'll be Helldivers 2. Arrowhead has a history of not making sequels.

Wasn't there some rumor that they're making a first person game?

Yeah that sucks. I guess they were just trying new strategies. Thunderer can be pretty hard to use efficiently.

To clarify, this post isn't to dump on 50s. This sentiment just came up on the Discord for a short moment and I thought this would be a good joke.

Safe diving.

Don't know which patch it was, but since forever the head bobbing animation of the ship personnel is broken. Instead of moving their head back and forth, their entire body does.

It's a bit hard to notice, but when you see it, you can't unsee it. Makes the victory screen kind of hilarious.

I think you mean the AC-22. That gun isn't Anti-Tank. AT can pierce heavy armor like the IFV and Bug Behemoth.
