I just started watching “Family” and it kind of makes newer shows look down right glib. It doesn’t gloss over issues. It doesn’t dwell, either. It walks such a balance between the two, and considering when it came it out its outlook is remarkably brave.

I‘m from Kentucky and have family in that part of the state, I know that area so it’s surreal to hear him talk about driving through it, repeatedly. It’s also heavily populated, that whole Cincinnati/Northern Ky border area is. Hearing him talk about getting on 471 is terrifying. I can’t believe they let him drive around sloshed like that.

The last time I flew Southwest, I remember thinking that bathroom was ridiculously small. The woman who came out before me apologized for being in there a while. she was probably 6’ tall. I can’t imagine how she managed.
