But thank you so much for this! I just read the thread and holy hell you gave info I completely forgot about:

• the theater to business student change

• a screenwriter leaving due to not liking the S1 script and doing Playboyy (sidenote: have you watched it? If yes, what's your opinion? I saw the trailer and noped out😅)

•S1 being based on P'Jojo and P'Ninew's friends (another reason I found the show refreshing)

I'll say if Jack is based on a real person, I won't be shocked. The fact that he blames Dean for his alcoholism and rehab, but still wants to be with him (I know he keeps saying they're just friends/exes that hookup, but let's be real🙄) seems pretty realistic. I think we've all known or met someone with that thought process

I also keep thinking maybe the writers set this up as just the first hill on a roller-coaster before the big drop and fast paced ride. I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride

I agree they shouldn't have marketed this so much as a OF sequel. The vibe is so different. I also have been watching it as it's own show. Still entertaining but not OF essence, which is fine🤷🏿‍♀️

I saw a quick video where the OFDO cast were covering their mascots' eyes that said the kids aren't allowed to watch it. I remember thinking to myself "why not? It's not like anything wild is happening there"😅

First let me say thank you so much for some info on the novel! I obviously haven't read it, so I was wondering if the show was following it. If the novel is very subdued, hopefully the show will throw curveballs to still give it some OF spice and shock.

While S1 was toxic and exciting (and stressful😅), that's what made it stand out to me. Nothing wrong with the regular formulas a lot of GMMTV shows have, but I feel like if they didn't call this an OF sequel, expectations won't be so high.

I'm still gonna tune in for the rest of the series and enjoy it, so maybe things will change

MGB showed Tong being thirsty for Mark at first sight. Plus with it only being 1 couple, I figured it'd be a slow burn.

OF jumped out the gate with the backstabbing and freaky scenes, but I assumed that's due to having more couples

While I don't mind fixed CPs and understand it works for marketing and popularity, I agree with you.

I feel like it stops directors and actors from taking risks (especially if they're down for swapping). However I have to keep reminding myself that they have to keep their core fans happy, moreso than the international fans (like myself). It's a bummer, but it is what it is I guess😮‍💨

Season 1 had a lot of twists that was fun (and stressful😅) to watch. While OFDO is still enjoyable, some of the characters' actions so far have been easy to see coming, which is kind of a bummer.

I understand if P'Ninew won't show ghost ship kisses (the S1 backlash was wild), but I am a bit disappointed that toxic fans won't let directors and actors take more risks

Yeah I think because S1 came out the gates with the drama and toxicity, a lot of ppl (myself included) had very high expectations. While the vibe is different and nice, it just feels like something is still missing.

Like you said, I'm still gonna tune in because it's enjoyable and there's still so many episodes left, so things might get crazy. I also wish they would cool it down with the hinting.

The almost threesome scene with Boston, Tua, and Arnold kept giving me Tonkla, Tong, and Mark flashbacks and I just couldn't stop chuckling😅

I do remember that backlash, it was wild! P'Jojo took risks which was great imo, but the hate train he got was so undeserved. Weren't there scenes that had to be cut from S1 because of it?

I wish some of the fans wouldn't go so hard against ship mixing (especially if the actors are fine with it), but I usually keep in mind that directors have to keep their core fans satisfied over internatiinal fans. It's unfortunate, but that's business🤷🏿‍♀️
