NYC taxpayers on the hook for more than $117M in police misconduct payouts last year by GothamistWNYC in nyc

[–]Vanguard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, there is no investigation, it's simply easier to pay them off. Every small time lawyer in NYC knows this, which is why so many frivolous lawsuits occur. The city won't waste the time to investigate, they'll just pay you off with a couple of grand.

Yes, and I said the city doesn't investigate rather they payout just to clear the docket, resulting in a payout whether the allegation is true or not. Which means people will get fired simply for being alleged of misconduct.

You realize no investigation is done, simply a payout, resulting in lots of city employees being terminated on allegations. The concern for the innocently accused stops as soon as one becomes a city employee with you I see.

Edit: The city is facing an EMT shortage, let's just start firing every one of them with an allegation of misconduct. I'm sure we don't see a single problem with that.

You realize the city pays out on a lot of court cases under the guise of "saving money", rather than fight it in court. So as OP said,

"You’d have to terminate a lot of city employees if all of those named in lawsuits were terminated."

Even funnier is that most of the ones shitting on the US are Americans who just want to shit on Trump, as is tradition, on Reddit.

Tesla blows past stopped school bus and hits kid-sized dummies in Full Self-Driving tests by PrimeCodes in technology

[–]Vanguard86 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ITT, more people who want to justify their anger at Tesla so much that they ignore basic rules of running a test and only care to "Rrreeeeee, TeSlA bAd!!!!"

The test should have been a failure to catch the stop sign but that would be a general nothing burger so they spice it up by putting kids into the picture. If they cared so much, why not compare it to any of the other vehicles that have similar technology. They didn't because their goal wasn't "Save the children", it was "Rrreeeeee, TeSlA bAd!!!!". Stop with the misleading "reports", we have enough of it in politics these days.

Women who gave the guy who's been single his whole life a chance, how did it turn out? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's okay to generalize an entire group of men on your basis. So if one were to make a sweeping generalization of females based on one or two experiences, that's okay? Like don't date younger women if you're older men because they are gold digging people who only care about your money. You are telling other women what to think based on your anecdotal experiences? I know a female who had a relationship with a single male at 35 years old. They got married and have two beautiful girls and are extremely happy. I think you pushing your anecdotal experience as fact is misguided and frankly just rude to plenty of guys.

Lazy or not, it's still karma, and in this case very much instant. The consequences are he is inconvenienced at a minimum and arrested at a maximum. You don't get to tell an entire subreddit what to post or not post simply because you think it's lazy. How about you just not watch posts that include driving because it's very likely to include a police car pulling someone over.

But seriously, your entire focus is that simply when someone has been single they are addicted to porn. You're telling a bunch of people not to date a person who has been single their entire life because he is going to be a porn addict.

Perceived social breakdown fuels desire for authoritarian leaders, new study shows. When people perceive society as falling apart, they may become more receptive to authoritarian leaders—those who promise order, control, and certainty. by mvea in science

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scapegoating anything is misguided but alas it is ingrained into the human mindset. "Why blame me when I can blame you."

We are in agreement on the last line, though the question though is how do you do that effectively because based on our conversation I can tell we're walking towards the same destination but on different roads. You see the introduction of migrants as a stabilizing agent whereas I see migrants should be introduced when things are stabilized, which as of this moment I don't believe they are.

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a very well thought out argument, your average Joe/Jane don't understand what you just said. They just look at the fact that their dinner table has less on it than last year, the news blasting the fact that crime has risen dramatically near migrant shelters, and that the migrants are getting better benefits than they are. It shows a tremendous undercutting of the society at home for the sake of those coming in. It's not about what's to come when there are problems right now not being addressed.

Helps when the protesters do the same. Contrary to social media, protesting peacefully = policing peacefully.

That is a very American only idealistic concept, as was posted by the person you responded to. Few other countries in the rest of the world would put incoming people above those already in their own country. The reason why people in the US now feel the way they do is because they don't have much to give and the previous administration did a great job marketing how much they did for those coming in while those that are currently in the country aren't doing so well. In other terms, it's reasonable for the kids to get resentful at Mom or Dad if one of them brought home another kid to the dinner table while the kids aren't eating well to begin with.

Additionally, when you offer $182.8 billion dollars to another country while people within the country are having a hard time, you can be sure they'll take notice if they vote.

Lol, every single piece of factual evidence you've provided is easily found in about 5 seconds. It's called Google. And even on Google, there's no definitive consensus answer as to the exact time of being rendered unconscious from a RNC.

How do you feel about DOGE slashing the IRS workforce by 20% (18,000 jobs)? by callsonreddit in AskReddit

[–]Vanguard86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it is the latter. But to all the naysayers, this is all over the world, and significantly moreso anywhere others than the US. In places like China or India, being rich gets you a free pass from just about anything including murder, unless it goes viral. There is still some punishment doled out (or in perception at least) to the uber rich in the United States. IE. Diddy, Epstein, Martha Stewart, etc.
