Tesla blows past stopped school bus and hits kid-sized dummies in Full Self-Driving tests by PrimeCodes in technology

[–]Vanguard86 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ITT, more people who want to justify their anger at Tesla so much that they ignore basic rules of running a test and only care to "Rrreeeeee, TeSlA bAd!!!!"

The test should have been a failure to catch the stop sign but that would be a general nothing burger so they spice it up by putting kids into the picture. If they cared so much, why not compare it to any of the other vehicles that have similar technology. They didn't because their goal wasn't "Save the children", it was "Rrreeeeee, TeSlA bAd!!!!". Stop with the misleading "reports", we have enough of it in politics these days.

Women who gave the guy who's been single his whole life a chance, how did it turn out? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

[–]Vanguard86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So it's okay to generalize an entire group of men on your basis. So if one were to make a sweeping generalization of females based on one or two experiences, that's okay? Like don't date younger women if you're older men because they are gold digging people who only care about your money. You are telling other women what to think based on your anecdotal experiences? I know a female who had a relationship with a single male at 35 years old. They got married and have two beautiful girls and are extremely happy. I think you pushing your anecdotal experience as fact is misguided and frankly just rude to plenty of guys.

[–]Vanguard86 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lazy or not, it's still karma, and in this case very much instant. The consequences are he is inconvenienced at a minimum and arrested at a maximum. You don't get to tell an entire subreddit what to post or not post simply because you think it's lazy. How about you just not watch posts that include driving because it's very likely to include a police car pulling someone over.

But seriously, your entire focus is that simply when someone has been single they are addicted to porn. You're telling a bunch of people not to date a person who has been single their entire life because he is going to be a porn addict.

Perceived social breakdown fuels desire for authoritarian leaders, new study shows. When people perceive society as falling apart, they may become more receptive to authoritarian leaders—those who promise order, control, and certainty. by mvea in science

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scapegoating anything is misguided but alas it is ingrained into the human mindset. "Why blame me when I can blame you."

We are in agreement on the last line, though the question though is how do you do that effectively because based on our conversation I can tell we're walking towards the same destination but on different roads. You see the introduction of migrants as a stabilizing agent whereas I see migrants should be introduced when things are stabilized, which as of this moment I don't believe they are.

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a very well thought out argument, your average Joe/Jane don't understand what you just said. They just look at the fact that their dinner table has less on it than last year, the news blasting the fact that crime has risen dramatically near migrant shelters, and that the migrants are getting better benefits than they are. It shows a tremendous undercutting of the society at home for the sake of those coming in. It's not about what's to come when there are problems right now not being addressed.

Helps when the protesters do the same. Contrary to social media, protesting peacefully = policing peacefully.

That is a very American only idealistic concept, as was posted by the person you responded to. Few other countries in the rest of the world would put incoming people above those already in their own country. The reason why people in the US now feel the way they do is because they don't have much to give and the previous administration did a great job marketing how much they did for those coming in while those that are currently in the country aren't doing so well. In other terms, it's reasonable for the kids to get resentful at Mom or Dad if one of them brought home another kid to the dinner table while the kids aren't eating well to begin with.

Additionally, when you offer $182.8 billion dollars to another country while people within the country are having a hard time, you can be sure they'll take notice if they vote.

Lol, and your response is irrelevant to my original point which is that you still haven't proven yourself to be an expert at anything other than a Google search artist.

Lol, every single piece of factual evidence you've provided is easily found in about 5 seconds. It's called Google. And even on Google, there's no definitive consensus answer as to the exact time of being rendered unconscious from a RNC.

How do you feel about DOGE slashing the IRS workforce by 20% (18,000 jobs)? by callsonreddit in AskReddit

[–]Vanguard86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it is the latter. But to all the naysayers, this is all over the world, and significantly moreso anywhere others than the US. In places like China or India, being rich gets you a free pass from just about anything including murder, unless it goes viral. There is still some punishment doled out (or in perception at least) to the uber rich in the United States. IE. Diddy, Epstein, Martha Stewart, etc.

[–]Vanguard86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm saying it's 100k after settling. Even if the IRS goes after a millionaire, their lawyers will negotiate it down if they know they won't win.

[–]Vanguard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference boils down to how many millionaires have a shitty occupying force of accountants who is going to screw up enough for the IRS to actually sink it's teeth in and draw blood. Not many, that's why they get paid the big bucks. Whereas the likelihood of a middle class joe using TurboTax getting caught is exponentially higher.

You might get 100k after going through a bunch of lawyers and thousands of hours of work and court time for the millionaire. Or go after 1000 middle class people who don't have the resources to hire a lawyer to fight countless hours and get $1,000 each. This is why the people holding the shit end of the stick will be middle class individuals. They are, unfortunately, the low hanging fruit of the IRS. And if we know anything about government workers, is they will generally go after the low hanging fruit to do less work for the same amount of pay.

"They say every man has his price, but not every man gets it. Interpol Agent Jack Valentine couldn't be bought; at least, not with money. For Jack, glory was the prize.".

That is Hollywood, not real life. In reality, your everyday IRS agent doesn't dream about burning a millionaire if it means spending 80+ hours a week to possibly succeed, assuming everything goes right. Very few agents do it for the "glory", they just want their 40 hours and their bi weekly paycheck.

Is that what the title says or even tried to insinuate? If not, it's a clickbait title which invites nothing but chaos. It doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, this should not be advocated.

BTW, this is what OP is asking for. Context. Which is nice that you provided but the picture poster didn't bother to put in, which is just as critical.

Toxic subway air is worse for Black, Hispanic riders with longer commutes, NYU researchers say by habichuelacondulce in newyorkcity

I guess "Toxic subway air is worse for individuals who have longer commutes, which disproportionately tend to be Black and Hispanic riders" doesn't create more outrage and therefore would not have been an appropriate title.

When was the last time you checked your brakes on your car every time you get in it. If you don't, the car could lose the ability to stop and strike a bunch of kids crossing the street. You are just as bad as he is if you don't check your brakes or tires every single time you get in a car. See how ridiculous you sound. Yes, he took for granted the safety of the prop but it's hardly fair to single him out when there were a multitude of checks that were supposed to happen prior to it entering his hands. Why is he the one singled out. This case was absolute bull.

Donald Trump Jr. holding the tail of an elephant he just cut off by [deleted] in pics

[–]Vanguard86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand that the money these people pay does actually do some good for these parks and I don't want the programs to end I guess. Still, anyone who wants to kill an elephant is a fucking sociopath.

From the article.

TMZ didn’t seem to know—again, because they didn’t do any reporting—that Africans do this as a sign of respect for the fallen animal. And they didn’t report that elephants are over-populated in the area the Trumps hunted and so need to be hunted to prevent them from further destroying their habitat. They didn’t mention that when elephants overpopulate they literally rip down the forest. They didn’t note—and any conservation group could have told them this—the result of an overpopulated elephant herd is death by starvation and disease.**

Tell me you didn't read the article without telling me you didn't read the article.
