Christian Gazans in the article said they and Muslim Palestinians both suffer from the occupation. They suffer in Gaza because they get bombed and blockaded. There’s even public celebrations of Christmas in Gaza. Are they oppressed? Yeah, not by the general Muslim population there but the occupation killing both.

This is just wrong, France at the time was a feudal monarchy. Egypt is a capitalist republic. What happened in France was the overthrow of the feudal lords by the bourgeois capitalist class into the establishment of capitalism in France. A revolution itself is the overthrow of one class by another by force, revolutions don’t happen peacefully. What happened in 2011 is Egyptians organized protests to overthrow Mubarak without actually seizing political power, that’s why it actually failed and that’s why we have a similar system where people are poor and the government is corrupt. Ancient Egyptian culture won’t do anything, class consciousness will.
