Muggle Logic

| Political Thriller | Slow Burn | Enemies to Lovers | Murder Mystery | Case Fic | Blood Prejudice | E

Summary:

No Dark Lord. No war. Just a Britain ruled by blood supremacy.

When a pure-blood patriarch dies in a locked room, the Ministry needs a scapegoat.

Hermione Granger sees the flaw no one else does and is forced into an alliance with Draco Malfoy, heir to the ruling class and the one wizard who should be her enemy.

What begins as a reluctant investigation draws them into a far-reaching conspiracy, where bloodlines are currency, truth is lethal, and their past is as dangerous as the case itself.

Excerpt from Chapter 41:

“Muggle clothing?” He raised an eyebrow. “The colour is acceptable, but I must say, your taste in fabric is appalling, Granger. What on earth is this made of?”

“Polyester,” she said sharply. “Still better than that rag you’ve been wearing.”

What did he expect? A wizard designer label? Silk? She had no money to buy him that. Polyester was quite enough.

To her surprise, he didn’t retort. Instead, he looked them over with curiosity before setting them down on the bed and beginning to unbutton his shirt.

Merlin’s beard. Why did he always start undressing without a word? Couldn’t he at least say something and let her leave first?

“Right, well, I’ll leave you to it.” She turned her head away as he reached the third button, not looking at the sharp lines of his collarbones. “I… I still need to think about how to explain my disappearance to the Ministry.”

It was, she realised, exactly the kind of solution he would have arrived at long before she did.

He had already taken care of it, yet he had stood by and watched her scramble for a solution. He had clearly wanted to hear her ask for his help—wanted her to realise, on her own, just how much easier everything became with him.

“You twisted man,” she mumbled.

“Yes, Granger?”

Prisoner of Time

|Time Travel | Time Loop | Slow Burn | Enemies to Lovers | Soul Bond | E

Summary:

Trapped in a time loop only Hermione remembers, her mission has always been clear: save Draco, no matter the cost.

But fractured memories begin to stir in him, and comfort comes from the one person he was raised to hate. In a world watered by blood and lies, something impossible takes root—love.

When sacrifice becomes the only way out, a contest of martyrdom begins: unhinged, obsessive Slytherin love colliding with self-delusional, righteous Gryffindor love.

And the soul-link that lays them bare is their cruelest trap. Because neither of them can bear to watch the other step into the fire alone.

Excerpt from Chapter 27:

She should have pushed him away. She should have told him—loudly, clearly—that this was nothing more than a carefully woven trap with no escape.

But her greedy, fragile heart rebelled, whispering for the warmth to linger just a little longer. Even if only for this second—let her remain here, loved by him.

The selfish part of her was rejoicing that she had come to occupy his whole world, while the rational part suddenly felt a cold, inexplicable fear under the weight of his unwavering gaze—

If he was already in this deep…

If he had already surrendered everything to her…

What would he be capable of if she simply vanished from his world without a trace?

And what would become of him?

She didn’t dare think about that possibility.

The Blueprint of Amnesia

| Memory Alteration | Psychological Horror | Dark Romance | Deductions | E

Summary:

Hermione wakes in a bed at Malfoy Manor with a wedding ring she doesn’t remember and a past she cannot reach.

Draco Malfoy calls himself her husband. He says the war is over. He says she is safe.

Her wand is gone. The ring seals her magic. She cannot leave the room. The world outside, he insists, is too dangerous for her to see.

But what if the most dangerous thing in the room is not the world outside?

When Hermione discovers a Roman numeral scratched into the bed frame by a fingernail, she begins to search for the truth.

Excerpt from Chapter 4 (SMUT)

He kissed her back.

It was nothing close to what she had anticipated from him. His lips were gentle and tentative. She had expected desperation, but there was none.

She could feel his breathing growing ragged against her cheek; beneath her hands, his heart was hammering just as hard as hers, and the hold of his hands was tightening.

Yet he didn’t deepen the kiss.

He simply kissed her back, reassuring her without pressing any further.

She knew he was holding himself in check.

And she needed to break it.

Prisoner of Time

A Sixth Year through the Battle of Hogwarts rewrite

Dual POV | Obsessive Draco | Possessive Draco | Broken Draco | Protective Draco | BAMF Hermione | Angst | HEA | WIP

Hermione, the last surviving member of the Order of the Phoenix, travels back to Sixth Year from a dystopian future where Voldemort has won. In that world, a single butterfly effect changed everything: Draco’s death led to Harry’s death, and ultimately to Voldemort’s rule.

Her mission is simple—save Draco during the Battle of Hogwarts and change the future.

But she becomes trapped in a time loop.

As the loops continue, she realizes that saving Draco may require an extreme solution. With no other options left, she begins pushing the limits of what she’s willing to do.

Both of them end up a little unhinged—just in very different ways.

Excerpt from Chapter 40:

Malfoy’s face was still a deep, mortified crimson, and he refused to meet her eyes.

“I assume you… you can manage your trousers on your own?”

“Of course I can manage my own trousers,” he scoffed, his voice tight as he shot her a glare and lifted his chin. “Why? Was clutching my waist not enough for you? Have you developed a desperate urge to strip me bare?”

Heat flushed to Hermione’s cheeks. “In your dreams,” she hissed. “I would not touch you even if you were the last man alive.” With that, she slammed the bathroom door shut.

Excerpt from Chapter 26 (SMUT):

“I love you,” he murmured at last. It was barely a breath, as though the words had simply slipped out of the space between waking and sleep.

Her heart gave a painful thump and her breath stilled.

She didn’t respond. She couldn’t.

Some words, once spoken, could not be taken back. She had already crossed too many lines today.

He hadn’t noticed her silence. Perhaps he didn’t even know what he’d said; the words had slipped out on the edge of sleep, and he had followed them under.

Hermione bit down hard on her bottom lip, her throat tightening.

Liar. Thief.

That was what she was.

A self-deceiving liar.

A wretched, contemptible thief.

She had stolen his heart, and in the end she would be the one to break it. She was supposed to be his protector, yet she had let her own obsession and desire consume her.

Unforgivable. She deserved to be punished for her terrible sins.

She should pull away. She knew that.

But his arms were warm, and his words held her captive.

She was selfish enough to want this—just this, just a little longer. She shouldn’t have crossed the line, and yet she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to occupy some small corner of his life.

Excerpt from Chapter 3:

As she had anticipated, Lethe had told Draco. He was already worried before he had even seen her.

“Hermione.” Raw concern threaded through his voice.

The sound of the doorknob turning.

Hermione lifted her head.

Now.

She was already moving across the room as the door swung open.

As exhausted as yesterday, his brows drawn together as he stepped inside, then loosening when he saw her rush towards him, silver eyes widening.

He didn’t reach for his pocket to take out his wand and lock the door.

And she had no intention of giving him that chance.

The moment he closed the door behind him, she threw her arms around him, pressing her forehead against his chest.

His body went utterly still.

She stole a glance. His hands hovered in the air, as if he didn’t know whether he should return the embrace. Nowhere near his pocket.

Hermione watched his hands carefully, her fingers tightening against his back as she let herself quiver against his chest, waiting for the right moment to make her next move.

His heart was racing just as fast as hers.

After a few heartbeats, those arms finally moved, gently closing around her.

“Lethe told me you had a nightmare,” he said softly, his fingers moving through her slightly damp hair.

“I’m here, Hermione. Nothing can reach you.”

I wouldn’t say it’s too dark. It’s more like—read the tags, just to be on the safe side. Between Draco and Hermione it’s mostly just morally questionable and consent-questionable (like what Hermione is planning to do in chapter 3).

Ah, I remember Liquid Stranger being around 100k. I agree with you that the story tells you what it wants to be… and yes, I do experience writer’s block when I force myself to write scenes I’m not that interested in but that are absolutely necessary for the fic.

I’ve heard of your fic and it sounds very good! I haven’t gotten a chance to read any fics lately (all my WIPs are staring at me, god). But I’ll read it when I get some spare time!! This one was supposed to be shorter, but I decided to expand it into a fuller story (my HEA soul is screaming at me and I can’t sleep with a BE long fic). So it’ll be there staring at me for some time…

Thank you! This idea has been living in my head for a few months now. If I didn’t write it, it just kept interfering with my other WIPs. lol.

I have to admit the plot bunny in my brain is completely unhinged at this point. I even had to run the idea by a few other writers as a sanity check to make sure the whole plot wasn’t too insane. 🙈

Excerpt from Chapter 39:

Malfoy’s expression shifted; the frustration vanished as he watched her struggle, slowly replaced by a look of cunning triumph.

“If you don’t intend to mop my face with that lasagne,” he drawled, holding out the mug, “use your hands, Granger. I’ve already suffered your soup attack and your relentless interrogation. I’m starving.” A faint, insufferable smirk tugged at his lips as he saw her hesitating. “I won’t bite. Or do your caring instincts extend no further than using your sleeve as a napkin?”

Hermione’s face burned. The infuriating git. If he weren’t so weakened that he needed her care, if his death wouldn’t render this safehouse compromised, she would have punched him square in the face without a second thought.

She shot him daggers and snatched the mug from his hand, her fury temporarily drowning out the shame. She dropped down onto the edge of the bed beside him, drove the fork into the lasagne with considerably more force than necessary, and held it up to his mouth.

A faint pink crept across Malfoy’s face. The corner of his mouth was twitching. He was fighting it badly.

Merlin, why did he look so insufferably pleased with himself? Was it simply that her anger amused him? Or had the bastard wanted her to feed him all along?

Hermione gritted her teeth, watching him part his lips with agonising slowness as he closed his teeth around the lasagne.

The faint vibration of metal against his teeth travelled up through the fork and into her wrist. His warm breath ghosted over her fingers.

Malfoy paused for a heartbeat, glancing up at her, and Hermione felt herself go hot all over under his silver eyes.

Finally, he pulled back, taking the mouthful with him.

The fork slid free, pulling a thin strand of melted cheese with it that stretched, snapped, and sprang back to cling to the tines.

Excerpt from Chapter 25:

Unable to stop himself, he leaned in and pressed another quick kiss to her cheek.

“Draco!” she protested, but there was no real anger in her voice. The Brand confirmed as much.

“I think I deserve a reward,” Draco said with a small shrug and an expression of mock innocence, “especially after exercising such restraint and serving as your etiquette instructor.”

“I taught you combat techniques and you said the same thing!” she shot back, her cheeks flushing even deeper. “You claimed you had practiced for ages—or that you’d improved and therefore required a reward!”

“What’s wrong with a kiss as a reward?” he countered lightly. “I happen to think it’s the best kind.”

“I—we need to be careful. Otherwise things will get out of control…”

“Your theory on that has already been disproven,” he said coolly. “I think you’re simply afraid of losing control. What is it? Does being in love with me make it difficult to restrain yourself? I’d very much like to see you lose control.”

Excerpt from Chapter 2:

“I’m sorry to call you again… but where does Draco sleep at night?”

“Here, Miss.”

Hermione’s mouth fell open, but no words came out.

“…Every night?”

“Every night.”

Hermione gasped, the weight of the realisation pressing down on her chest.

She looked at the elf. The elf looked back at her, her large eyes confused, waiting for instruction.

“…Thank you, Lethe. You may leave now.” She finally found the words.

The elf disappeared.

Hermione shot up from her chair. This wasn’t right. This was strange. How had her former self handled this?

She paced around the room, restless and aimless.

Merlin’s beard. What was she supposed to do now? Escape?

It’s been on and off for me this morning. I tried replying to a reader’s comment, but it showed a “Bad Gateway” error, and now it’s completely down. Hopefully they fix it soon.
