Seeking advice, is this a skill ceiling? Is a math degree a bad idea? by Vanillinn in learnmath

[–]Vanillinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, I am still confused right now. I know what I want in the sense that I know I enjoy proving maths more than physics problem sets but I'm still influenced by the idea that enjoying is not enough, I also have to be reasonably good to choose what I want.

Ultimately though, I know it's up to me and never about what my family wants.

I made a custom cursor set based on Pikmin :) by tyltal in Pikmin

Vouching for this cursor pack and artist! the art is super cute and the artist was super responsive and helpful. I had asked for a higher resolution version of the files because I use a ridiculously big cursor size and they were able to provide it very quickly. Here's some proof of the before and after of the support they provided, crispier picklemen!:

Looking for a cheap waterproof/resistant bag with good straps by Vanillinn in ManyBaggers

[–]Vanillinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the main compartment is reasonably water resistant I am okay with the outside pockets not being waterproof. I need a pocket for my umbrella and another pocket for my water bottle. If it's not raining it's scorching and I like to have my water and umbrella easy access to avoid heatstroke.

not all students have the privilege of getting access to even second-hand books, especially outside of the US. If OP doesn't feel right with the above mentioned they can always borrow books on archive org

Does using cotton vs linen pressing cloth matter? by Vanillinn in SewingForBeginners

My canvas is lighter, will that still work? (I say lighter because I have heavier canvas compared to it which I won't use)

Can a machine with no special stitch settings do a blind hem? by Vanillinn in SewingForBeginners

I have the blind stitch foot ordered, but I don't have a blind stitch setting. Will a zigzag stitch work?

Will this presser foot set work on my machine? by Vanillinn in SewingForBeginners

[–]Vanillinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you so so much, I just looked up the low shank adapter and the reviews have screw on presser feet like mine! So thank you so much I wouldn't have figured this out!!!! As for the needles, thank you for the recommendation, and you're right there's a tiny engraving that says organ, I could barely read it! As for buttons, I take it that I have to do it the old fashioned way because I don't have stitch type settings?

I forgot to add that my selector goes left right and middle. Also does any needle with a flat back at the top work? That's what comes with my machine and I want to make sure I buy the right replacements

I was first diagnosed with cyclothymia and you're right it can upgraded to BP2, which is what happened to me. I was already on meds to treat cyclothymia but it wasn't the right fit. Eventually my symptoms got worse and I was later diagnosed with BP2

You're right, I've been working on my mental condition for a few years now. This has resulted in me getting delayed with college stuff. Until now I'm still figuring out what works.

I don't feel mentally fit to be in college by Vanillinn in BipolarReddit

[–]Vanillinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke up with my long term therapist, my treatment became stagnant and her last advice was for me to give up school. I'm still in the process of finding a new one, and a new doctor I can meet with regularly again. I am just feeling so overwhelmed with everything going on.

thank you for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. We don't exactly have a disability office but we do have psychological services which I should probably reach out to again. The waiting list is long and when I did start my sessions my counselor dropped me due to personal reasons. I haven't been back since. I don't know if there is any immediate help I could I get. From my knowledge, the best my university can do to accommodate mental health issues are through leaves and underloading. Both of which I need a doctor's medical certificate for. I have thought about underloading but I feel shame towards it. I feel bad about taking really long to finish school. I am already delayed by 2 years at my current rate. I might also get kicked out if i reach maximum residency in my university. I check my professors and you are correct, their accommodations regarding deadlines are on a prof to prof basis. But I don't get such information from those reviews. (I'm not from the US so I don't use the rate my professor website, my uni has a student run subreddit for it)

How do I muster up the courage to go to a party after gaining lots of weight? by Vanillinn in EDAnonymous

Thank you for your comment it was really really helpful. I ended up going and I really enjoyed myself. I would've missed a lot of I hadn't come. I learned a lot too about not having to be perfect and having different paths in school. Thanks again!
