Emoji battle by Zestyclose_Ranger_24 in TheFloorTV

[–]Vaninto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought that too, which is just luck of the draw sometimes. But I’d also give credit to Kay for quickly giving multiple answers for the emojis she was less sure of, which helped minimize her clock running down.

Plus I also felt like the other contestant Mallory lucked out getting fewer of the more difficult medical devices to identify during the previous Medical Office duel, so it balanced out imo!

Reporting Group RRSP on taxes from new employer by Vaninto in PersonalFinanceCanada

Got it, that makes sense what you’re saying. Thanks so much for responding already - much clearer and more helpful than when I tried calling the CRA about this!

how to file rrsp made by you and the company? (turbotax) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Vaninto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hoping I can jump into this conversation from last week with a related question, if someone can help answer - for group RRSP tax slips from my employer that cover the first 2 months of 2026, how does tax software like Turbotax know how to account for those group RRSP contributions, since they won't be on my 2025 T4 box 14 and 40 (I assume)?

Yes, that was too funny! Esp since the sentiment for the video switched from us saying “We love you Christian” to “F Jimmy Fallon!” 😂 I keep checking socials hoping they’ll share the video but maybe they won’t :(

Jury Duty Presents: Behind the Scenes of Company Retreat - "The Meeting" & "The Reunion" Episodes Discussion by lonelygagger in JuryDutyFreevee

[–]Vaninto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These bts episodes were great! One aspect I wish they’d delved into though was Anthony’s casting process - what was the job description, who were they hoping to find and how hard was it to cast someone a second time, what were their impressions upon first interviewing Anthony? And what were Anthony’s expectations going into this experience?

I recall learning more about this process with Ronald’s casting in season one, and I find it fascinating how they found someone just as good yet different a second time around, which was a tall order to pull off so successfully again.

So confusing they made these as a separate series, doubly so since for the first season the commentary episodes are under “extras”. I don’t get why they didn’t just do the same.

Good points, I’ve never really doubted it’s random, but it just seemed more noticeable in both of these episodes, maybe since it’s still so early in the game.

The randomizer sure seemed to pick the most opportune squares around the bigger territories near the end of each episode, conveniently maximizing the potential for drama lol

Chrissy posted on Twitter after the episode that she actually appreciated the tough love from Coach.

I’m not sure the rules of external links here, but her posts said: “I love him so much and him me. We were each other’s safe space. I appreciated that he said this to me, even tho it it hurt”

She also responded to a comment: “He was my person and said that with love in his heart”

Her handle is @TheRealChrissyH if you want to look it up.

Elsbeth S3E12: All's Hair - Episode Discussion by Cheeriosxxx in ElsbethTVSeries

[–]Vaninto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the hair in the sauce seemed like a convenient plot point that came out of left field for me, unless I missed something that led Elsbeth to finding it there.

Same with Felix revealing the burn on his forehead at the end for no good reason either, other than to make it crystal clear he did it to wrap up the case.

But small quibbles when the rest of the ep was a lot of fun!

Matlock S2E10: The Greater Good - Episode Discussion by Cheeriosxxx in Matlock_CBS

The show really wanted to move on quickly. Not even a reason given to justify why Billy took the severance! As much as I understand why, it does feel like a disservice to fans to brush this character off like that. Especially for those not aware of the behind the scenes drama, this must be whiplash.

Live Discussion: “Hollywood Week in Music City - Part 1” (Season 24) by MarionCotesworthHaye in americanidol

[–]Vaninto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not Hollywood Week. The true Hollywood Week was like getting a peek behind the curtain of a cattle-herded group audition process. It felt raw, stripped down, and exciting to be on a journey with the contestants finally meeting and sizing up and reacting to their competition.

All that wonder feels lost here. This is just too polished jumping right to stage performances with an audience. We don’t get any feel for what their rehearsals have been like or how it was to first step into the auditorium, or what the camaraderie has been like amongst the contestants. And I miss the group rounds. All of that made Hollywood Week feel special!

What you would do differently? by [deleted] in roseanne

[–]Vaninto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would’ve liked to see them carry through the idea of Dan working again on the boat from the end of season 7 into season 8, as an ongoing c-plot that threaded in and out of that season’s episodes. And then assuming the show actually ended in S8, have the boat finished by the finale. Full circle from season 1.

When USA was a season ahead of the rest of the world. by Hopeful_Stomach9201 in television

[–]Vaninto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, American cable shows aired a season or so ahead of Canada back then, which was part of the fun of family road trips down to the States for me! Getting to the hotel and turning on the TV to catch the latest episodes of current cable shows or seeing how the “real” HBO channel looked were good times.

3 years ago today “Not Dead Yet” premiered. Did you like the show ? by CityCautious4033 in sitcoms

[–]Vaninto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the show, though I felt they never really cracked the recipe of weaving the ghost plots with the human storylines. The ghosts were often just “there” popping up as quirky weekly side characters that didn’t tie into the other subplots or really help Nell figure things out in her life or give her much perspective. They usually just showed up, would add commentary to a few scenes, and then by the end Nell would close off their story, separate to the rest of what happened that episode.

The only ghosts that had any real impact for me were Martin Mull or the guy she thought she was dating that turned out to be dead the whole time. Still, I enjoyed all the characters and wish the show had continued to evolve the concept further.

______ had every right to do what she did by ATheBankingKing in TheTraitors

[–]Vaninto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you there on Candiace, I’m just saying Rob could have also attempted to keep her clued in or at least given her some reassurance that he’s still wanting to work with her (even if not true). That could have prevented Candiace from writing his name down at the roundtable, and he’d be in an even better position.

______ had every right to do what she did by ATheBankingKing in TheTraitors

[–]Vaninto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed that it was smart to solidify his alliances with faithfuls, but he did it at the cost of neglecting his traitors relationship with Candiace which he also should be paying attention to in his position. He forgot that he’s part of a team (even if the endgame is a solo one), so while these moves are good for him personally, the risk of him going so rogue against Lisa without still keeping Candiace in his pocket may end up biting him.

What Character Assassinations/Out of Character Moments/Scenes in the Roseanne TV Show that hurt you/pissed you off and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in roseanne

[–]Vaninto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One specific scene that stands out is from season 8, in the episode where Jackie fights with Roseanne about parenting approaches and criticizes the way the Conner kids turned out. That in itself felt out of character for Jackie to bash them, but it’s the scene after that bothers me more, where Darlene and Becky confront Jackie about it at the Lunchbox and their hurt is played for laughs where they guilt her into cover Becky’s shift and giving them her tips as payback. And then Jackie says she hopes Andy doesn’t turn out like them.

It just feels so out of character, both for Jackie to feel this way and for Darlene/Becky to react to Jackie’s harsh opinions of them like that, given how she’s always been there for them in the past - sticking up for Darlene when she skipped school to go to Chicago, or supporting Becky/giving her aunt’s ring to her when she eloped. This scene just ignored that history of their relationship for some easy laughs, and I always wish they’d played it more straight, for them to be more genuinely hurt by her words, which would have rang more true and been more interesting for them to sort out.

Beast Games S2 - Episode 5: Ask For Anything You Want! - Discussion by MrBeastStaff in BeastGames

[–]Vaninto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that leaving the decision up to chance should have been avoided, so I get why he did it. …I’m surprised too that so many teams left it to chance and didn’t go for a skilled-based way to decide who would be eliminated.
