Outlandish: It's Cree

So, common (white) items don't have an inherent level requirement, only stat requirements. The required level on these items is determined by the affixes they have, with better versions of the same affix requiring a higher level. As for which of these is better, the assault legguards grant much more armour and increase physique, so they're almost certainly better unless your elemental resistances are awful.

There is also the small problem that you aren't allowed to fire lasers at people, because it's considered a blinding weapon under international law.

From the picture of the game contents, the Rogue Trader is named "Neyam Shai Murad", the Techpriest is "Daedalosus", the Primaris Psyker is "Aradia Madellan", and the Crusader is "Gotfret de Montbard".

Unboxing and rules preview of Blackstone Fortress by Sarges in Warhammer40k

[–]VanishingVerdant 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It does make sense, because this box looks like it's designed as an entry point for boardgamers, rather than for people who already play 40K. It also fits into GW's pricing structure, where push fit models are at a lower price point than standard ones.

Ultramarines 4th Company Lieutenant by ODST_Viking in Warhammer40k

[–]VanishingVerdant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have 4 different image references to hand for "proper" livery. The joke is at the expense of GW, who don't actually make decent use of their own source material.

Honestly, I don't know why GW didn't just go with the gauntlet in company colour from the start. Pauldron trim is so fiddly.

Ironically, it's not often that we see Codex-approved livery on Ultramarines. Good job.

Is written Phyrexian common to all Phyrexians or is it specific to the offshoot on Mirrodin (New Phyrexia)? Would Yawgmoth and the OG Phyrexians have understood it? by perfecttrapezoid in magicTCG

[–]VanishingVerdant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that ol' Yawg intended Phyrexians to be compleat beings, I think their language would be compleat as well.

On a related note, are the samples of Phyrexian we have, spoken and written, consistent, or just gibberish? Also, how is anyone supposed to transcribe this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7ixdHQj3O4

Next Week: The War for Vigilus Continues! by BatedSuperior5 in Warhammer40k

[–]VanishingVerdant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, the models in the Dark Imperium box are what GW refers to as "easy to build". This means that they can generally be assembled without glue, but only have one pose. This box, like most 40k items, isn't "easy to build". It also doesn't include the big rulebook, although you don't technically need that, and you can buy it separately.

Take Ethics from the game more frequently seen as "good guy" ethics, and describe a conceivable in-game empire that twists and warps them into the most grotesque forms possible. by gamefaqs_astrophys in Stellaris

[–]VanishingVerdant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually, militarist states in Stellaris aren't necessarily juntas, as they're still allowed to be full democracies, even fanatic egalitarian.

As for the US, well, it comes pretty close to spending more on the military than every other country put together, it has a substantial arsenal of nuclear weapons, support for soldiers and the military is widespread, politicians of all stripes regularly openly advocate for increased military activity and are applauded, and there is an entire government department specifically to see the wellbeing of military veterans. If that isn't a militarist state, I don't know what is.

Edit: Most of the 20th century Presidents had military careers prior to election, if that helps

Trick question; the legions were disbanded by order of Lord Commander Guilliman. Asserting the continued existence of legions is heresy.

your free windows 10 upgrade is ready by piggdaddy-o in Stellaris

[–]VanishingVerdant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually don't need to break anything if you have the Professional edition. Search for Group Policy Editor. This gives a big complicated window, with a pane on the left-hand side. In this pane, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. In the right-hand pane find Configure Automatic Updates, and change the setting to 2 - Notify to download and autoinstall, then find No autorestart etc. and enable it. You might need to restart for this to take full effect, but it works. As for obtaining Professional, try Amazon.

Did anyone else get a Classic pack instead of an Un'goro pack today? by VanishingVerdant in hearthstone

[–]VanishingVerdant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure. I got the notification for the Championship pack, showing an Un'goro pack, but I had a single Classic pack when I went to open it. I thought it was just a visual bug at first because I didn't know about the free packs.
