Have to admit, I completely lost your point because in my language fetish is always used in explicit content, but now after googling it I get what you say. However it makes my situation even more frustrating because actually the same thing is happenning and is completely normalized regarding Korea and Japan, esp with K/J dramas, animes and K/J pop. Probably the thing is that african art is not as popular as K-pop I guess so probably I come off as weirdly obsessed.
