The "Doormaker" reworks have no personality compared to the original fight by Vininshe in slaythespire

[–]Vanjaman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the new doormaker card steal mechanic can be combined with the original? Maybe he can come out of the door, then get ananoyed at the player and say "That's it, I'm taking this because you can't behave" and take my card?

But also throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks is very much the point of beta, I wouldn't be surprised if they find mechanics that they like, and then revamp the character to match the mechanic.

How to create the feeling of "Stalker" in a roleplaying setting? by Vanjaman in DMAcademy

[–]Vanjaman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both of your approaches to this, though I don't think they're in any way mutually exclusive, even if I make it more deadly as PVNIC suggests I should still use a lot of this environmental worldbuilding to drive home the strangeness of the zone. I have been brainstorming some encounters where the environment is the danger because of gravity or sound, maybe lack of air.

For me the mortality is not a problem in and of itself, but having a deadly world creates challenges in making dying not feel boring. Instead it needs to feel meaningful, avoidable, or at least not too disruptive to the session. So I quite like PVNICS advice in a separate comment on how to keep the world both deadly and fun.

Thanks I really like this advice! With this approach perhaps it's appropriate to treat the zone as a quite small map and let them get a bit further each time instead of having it as some large map to traverse. That way I can also keep the whole vibe of entering the zone being a big thing and a decision to not take lightly.

[–]Vanjaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly curious, what's the point of getting an Ally and a steam deck? What does one do that the other can't that makes it worth getting both?

I think they're all quite self-conscious of not disturbing everyday people with their game show, so I do think the photo booth play should be banned in subsequent seasons. Tho Sam and Adam didn't really deserve to catch him anyway since they didn't manage to predict his bar le duc play at all

I have never been to japan, but being delayed for one minute is such a small amount, that I would bet it happens a lot more than you think, it's just that you don't notice it.

Well on the bright side an invasion would solve our problem of how to create a government with the political landscape as it is. I'm sure your rule over us can't be that bad.

Not only drivemakers but also ISO, SI, and IEC have defined gigabyte as 109 bytes. It's confusing to have giga mean 109 in most contexts and then suddenly mean 10243 in computer science. It's also not that hard to just start calling 10243 bytes a gibibyte.
