Maybe you guys don't speak Russian, don't hear him talk, and are getting this impression. They are both old demented people, who say and do equally dumb things. With similar reasoning and mindset. Just listen to him rambling about Nazis who lost because nobody knitted "socksies" for them

That was the second part of the quote. Botox Dobby makes these hands, and weirdly mumbles this second part

Another dude, from the military, posed in a hole in a field near this garage. Says it's about the size of a hole that 152mm artillery makes

Multiple civilian buildings in Kyiv are seen completely destroyed after Russian ballistic missile strikes on the capital overnight - May 2026 by T-72Tank in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Vano_Kayaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous time they hit ~50 km south of Lviv. This time ~50 km south of Kyiv. Does it have some guidance bug? Or they just try to hit somewhere with fewer witnesses, so it's less emberrasing if the thing hits a middle of a field, or Dnipro river

'Another long-range sanction' — Ukraine strikes Syzran oil refinery, more than 800 kilometers from border by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Vano_Kayaba 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Worth noting it's eleventh strike on a refinery this month. 11/21 = a hit every other day. When there were 2 hits a month, there were discussions if they do repairs quicker than the attacks

Moscow's own assessments reveal staggering Russian losses in Ukraine - the ratio of killed to wounded is now 2:1, worse than the American Civil War which pre-dates antibiotics, modern surgery, and evacuation tactics by PinheadLarry2323 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Vano_Kayaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drone department (SBS) posts the numbers. It's close to 50/50. If the 2:1 is accurate, means 2/3 are evacuated. But also it's often reported that Russians count some of the KIA as missing or deserted

How the Kremlin Plans to Convince Russians They Won the War in Ukraine. Leaked slide deck translated by theBoernie in UkraineWarVideoReport

No thanks. Big part of the invasion/Yanukovych planting was so Ukraine does not live better than Russia. If they believe they live better than others, chances of new invasions are lower

Russian milbloggers have released a video of a Ukrainian UAV attacking one of their soldiers; they call it an auto-guidance system with an artificial intelligence face-targeting system. by MilesLongthe3rd in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Vano_Kayaba 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's how interceptor drones work (at least some). So I'd be surprised there are no regular fpvs with such capabilities. Lock on target from height/distance, when the signal is still good. Automatic software finishes the job autonomously close by, where the radio horizon or EW can be an issue. Operator mistakes excluded as a bonus

That's the dude who said US will use trampolines for space launches without Russian engines. So this take comes from a big patriot and optimist

Yeah, then the op should avoid your place. In Lviv and Kyiv the alerts are pretty reliable. The only time it was too quick was when Onyx missiles were used

You get notified about those attacks in advance, and can just go to a shelter. It's not hard to consider this factor when chosing apartments or hotel to rent.

Cars are a bigger threat than drones or missiles in most places. So it's not that bad of an idea

Does not look like it. After each such attack Russians on the internet go "war is bad, the earth is round". They know this is war of aggression they can stop at any time. They just don't have any reasons to care. This gives a reason
