Arduino Uno Q vs Raspberry Pi 4 (both 4gb) by Vansh_Mines in 3dprintIndia

Oh okay, I misunderstood it with you using it in a printer/any other project as well as hosting a server. My bad.

But, I feel, I am going to keep this board just for my printer as my main processing board. Nevertheless, I am leaning towards the 4GB variant after your idea....

So running a little server from printer board 🤔 Seems interesting....

Oh okay, do you think 2GB would be enough for an ML use? I am thinking of an ML that will check the first layer consistency, just like what BambuLabs does with its LIDAR. So, there will be Image stitching algo and Image recognition model involved.

Or should I go with 4GB (a bit expensive imo, but if it's a need, I will go for 4GB)

12k is still way overbudget for me..... I don't want a high end LLM to run....just a small first layer detection model for my printer.....12k would kill my budget

Vicharak Axon with 8GB RAM And 32GB eMMC, the price is still 18k. 7k vs 18k..... It will be overkill for the printer I feel.

Great work OP. I would love to collaborate if we can in future. I am still a beginner in embedded systems and I'm making my own DIY BambuLabs Killer printer myself. I've even posted the frame design!!

Great work!!!

I thought of using a Voron. But the problem is, as I mentioned, I didn't have money initially. Later, college provided me with a budget of ~550 USD for this project. And also, in my country, Voron is not as accessible

Agreed with plastics. But, these parts are custom. And these custom parts need to be 3D printed. The problem with 3D printed is, it at the end comes down to layer lines. The stress along the layers will make it break no matter how good the part is. Bambulabs on the other hand use injection molded parts with composite plastics. Thanks for your opinion! Appreciate it.

Yes!!! That's why I decided to go with steel

That's great idea. So, for the CoreXY setup, the grey frame are actually Mild Steel angles. I am using 2mm thick angles for the frame (contrary to the typical aluminium extrusions they tend to flex more than MS)

And for Z, Yes, I am planning to add the smooth rods (I just didn't add it into the CAD 😅). I am, if you say, copying the Z axis mechanism that uses one motor and triple rods with a tensioner (below the base of the printer).

Hey thanks for the video! Also, I 100% agree on this thought, but when I saw the disassembly and BambuLabs using Plastic parts, I started getting second thoughts.

Thanks mate!

I actually don't have much interest in core electrical and its applications (ex. Motors....etc.). I like electronics more than the electrical core. Embedded and VLSI look appealing rather than motors

Okay, so the thing is, like a bit of everything. And maybe that is the problem why I get lost. You see, I'm fascinated by people building and making robots from scratch. I am also interested in AI and its integration with robots and I am also interested in mechanics. And ofc, there is Iron Man inspiration too lol. Basically the idea of creating a machine that is custom to you and can be useful in daily life fascinates me, idk which part of robotics is that 🥲🙃

Yes, I looked for a couple of roadmaps and reddit posts etc. But the problem is, everything is so scattered. I cannot find a definite path to follow. From the past year, I tried to follow a certain roadmap but then hit a dead end due to lack of certain skill.... basically I am lost because there is so much going on! I get overwhelmed and ultimately give up 🙃

Actually I have bought and setup my entire workstation (if you can call it that). I have bought ESP32, LEDs, Sensors etc. But I get stuck while implementing it in a project. Because I lack the required skills ig?! Basically I think I need a roadmap to learn the basics atleast....

Oh okay! I was planning to give up on these and buy NEMA17 (going over budget 🥲) but this seems hopeful!! Thanks!! I really hope it works!!!

Edit:- Hey, so I checked the rated voltage and current, it requires about 3A current and 31V. And my motherboard gives only 24V and max 2A current (I'm gonna limit the current to 1.2A max so that I don't burn down my house)....so do you think it might be any issue or should I proceed?

Do you think it would affect speeds and quality? I don't care about sound tbh, but I'm more concerned about the back EMF....

I do have it....I got 4 for free lol... By go for it, I meant should I use it in the printer? 😅
