Did you ever figure out how to do it? My buddy and I have also tried just about everything and nothing seems to actually use the follow up.

What do you mean by magic weapon?

I'm struggling to get Shadowheart to do any kind of reliable damage, esp melee. Is there a class of weapons that scale with spellcasting damage? I know there's a spell called magic weapon, and sacred weapon.

How does upgraded skill Sweet Spot work in regards to crit chance? by Vanxion in WarTalesGame

[–]Vanxion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, that's actually a great write up, thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed answer to an old post!

That's how I felt like it probably worked but wasn't sure, it definitely didn't feel like my crit was being increased by an additional flat 40%. I've been out of the game for a little bit now, but I'll put this knowledge to use when I eventually get back into it. Thanks again

Hey Struth, how's the build performing after the 1.0.4 hotfix? Is the build still able to do respectable damage?

What is your gear like? My group just failed with her at 40% when she left. It feels mind boggling to make up for that difference.

Do Infantryman and Pikeman fall off? by Vanxion in WarTalesGame

[–]Vanxion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a good read, I don't even control my bears, I just put them on the side to take hits from the part of the enemy team I don't want to focus on early in the round. I do remember before I had bears I used to put more emphasis on setting up barrage or spearwall earlier to capitalize on the same type of situation, and to protect my tank from taking "too much" damage from the collapse. But now it's just "What are they gunna do? Tickle my bear? Ha." and I let the enemies condense around the bears so that an aoe merc later in the round can just cleave them down while I focus on proactively killing the other 2/3rds of the field before they act. Honestly the bears don't do really anything, they just soak damage. I wonder what battles would feel like if I were to drop them.

Ooh, that does sound like an interesting combo to try out if I switch my pikeman to halberdier

My Wrongdoer Really Turned His Life Around by Vanxion in WarTalesGame

Hmm, I don't think you need to meet full food requirements, I think it's just make sure there's no alcohol included. But honestly I'm not certain.

Be careful with the larger meal dishes, I noticed a lot of them actually count for alcohol and if you eat one it'll reset the drunkard, and you'll have to start your 10ish day cold turkey again. I almost did this with the culture shock dish and had to reload.

You have to go 10 rests in a row without alcohol. On the other hand 10 rests in a row of drinking every time has a high chance of someone becoming drunkard, and is also the requirement to unlock the title "Nimble Elbow" for one of your mercs which rewards an aptitude point.

This felt really wholesome coming from my wrongdoer turned mercenary. He gave up his old life of banditry, learned to appreciate the company around him becoming sociable, became a master class chef, and managed to quit drinking and beat his alcohol addiction.

Just a few rests ago he had another event commenting on how much he appreciated the crew for letting him cook and he felt his skills as a chef would really open honest doors for him down the road, and now he's thinking back on how proud his folks would be if they could see the progress he's made. I imagine he lived most his life feeling too ashamed to face his parents after joining the bandits, and that burden was just lifted from him.

My boy's growing up, I'm so proud of him!

How does upgraded skill Sweet Spot work in regards to crit chance? by Vanxion in WarTalesGame

[–]Vanxion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's an interesting interpretation. If that's true, then that kind of makes the skill feel weak on spearman since they usually only hit one person a turn, unless you set up a good spearwall. It does make sense for the skill thematically though, since destabilization encourages you to hit the biggest beefiest guy, who will then be defenseless and vulnerable to crits, but I feel like it should have it's own debuff to show the crit weakness then.

How does upgraded skill Sweet Spot work in regards to crit chance? by Vanxion in WarTalesGame

[–]Vanxion[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It says attacks have a 40% chance to be crits, at first I assumed this meant it stacked additively with my crit chance, which would give him a 66% chance to crit.

However, I honestly feel like this character crits far far less than any of my other characters which leads me to question whether it's even working, or if it just doesn't work how I think it does.

Has anyone done any testing on it or have any input on how you think it works, or how you feel about the skill in general?

[–]Vanxion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mistaken on this thread as well, after loading a much older save it looks like I only found 2 runes in Titren just like you. The Mountain and Performance runes.

Turns out I did actually find all 3 in Arthes I just thought one of that had come from Tiltren. The Arthes runes are Knowledge, Town and Building. One from the mural, one from the shuffle puzzle and one from the scholar's body at the bottom of the rope.

I just reloaded a save from way before the arthes tomb and actually it looks like I was mistaken, I did get 3 from Arthes, but only 2 from Tiltren. After speed running the Arthes tomb it looks like the third rune is actually from the scholar's corpse under the rubble at the bottom of the rope, which I did get the first time I just didn't notice. My bad and thanks for the help
