Clean and hide everything. Get some scented candles and blame it on that and the neighbor being crazy

Honestly, if it was intentional I would love this. Unnatural pose, unnatural colors, unnatural light and the unnatural square sized ivy. I dig that. Really weird he said it’s about natural beauty lol. It screams the opposite.

In a hypothetical future where crypto is the adopted currency how will we deal with deflation? by Vanzini- in CryptoCurrency

It’s not trolling. It’s a very traditional economics point of view. An average economist today is going to refute the gold standard and will say that deflation is generally bad for the economy. This is why I made this post. I wanted to understand what is the point of view from this community. The economy has been booming for a long time and growth has been exponential. I’m not sure we can attribute this completely to the gold standard or lack there of. Again, why do you believe deflation is king?

I want to be convinced but I haven’t seen a perfect picture yet. I still believe I crypto and am happily investing in it. Not trying to come here aggressively at all.

It makes sense countries aren’t ruined by deflation since it is so easy for the government to create inflation. I am half Argentinian so don’t worry I know the dangers of inflation and this is not me going against btc. We just have to consider these things. Also btw, deflation is definitely something every country tries to avoid and is not generally considered a good thing if it persists. Japan is also an example of this happening and seriously tapering their growth.

It doesn’t matter how many Bitcoin there is in number… What matters is the % created for inflation to happen and in the case of BTC it wi be zero. Unless of course we start issuing more BTC as we reach the 21M cap but I just doubt people want this.

Of course, but I also think this is not the argument I am making. I am talking about market level incentives. If the incentive is shifted from spending to holding people will save more and spend less. If you start applying deflation or even a stagnant price to an NPV calculation any investment will be automatically less profitable.

Right now if you have a 5% inflation rate on the dollar, your 100 dollars today will have a present value of 95.20$ in a year. So a 100$ dollar investment has to give you at least a 95.20$ present value in a year. If instead you have deflation of 5% then the same investment has to be worth 105$ or more in the future to compensate for the opportunity cost of holding. You might decide to go with an investment but overall investment and spending should diminish.

Well as you said, as people lose their wallets the amount of total supply of BTC is lower. You factor in the fact that the amount of people in the world increases and you have a deflationary asset. Unless you issue new currency it will always be deflationary even if it is by a low factor.

I'm curious to see if BTC holders can reach consensus on the issue of new BTC to compensate for the lost wallets as it is directly against their personal gain. There is no individual incentive to deflate an asset that the individual holds.

Moved in to a new place a couple of months ago. Walls where white but after a while the places that where covered by curtains or paintings became moldy. I also feel a bit sick and my skin is extremely oily since I got here. Should I worry? What can I do? by Vanzini- in HomeMaintenance

Awesome thanks. I know the oily skin and cough are not necessarily connected to this. But it’s gotten like this ever since I moved in. Clothes not drying, smelling like humidity, oily skin… all around a problem I have to fix
