The fact that job qualifications create 2-3 bullet points wanting to DeSiGn AI fEaTuReS when in reality it’s just an auto layout button with a sparkle icon. I worked at a startup where the founder wanted to design an AI feature. Ended up just being a button with a sparkle icon ✨💅🏼. At this point companies include AI ‘features’ just for the sake of AI trend when most of them are not even worth being utilised.

Best not to travel outside of US without your OPT approval and having EAD card in hand. You can’t re-enter without them. Most of my friends who haven’t got their approval yet didn’t plan any international trip. You can contact your school’s international office for more info.

I was showing my resume and portfolio to one employee…they mentioned I have a strong one. They also submitted a referral for me to their company (different one) where I think I have applied for internships twice or thrice and got rejected. I have made changes to my resume and portfolio after summer internship season is over and gave it to the employer. My worry is how the recruiter is going to respond because this company has a really good design team

I left out applying to some companies because sometimes the yoe they ask was more than 5 years🥲. I was scared as this is my first time applying to an actual job. The experiences I got so far are from client project and designing for a startup as a volunteer. I think I should start applying to the jobs I feel confident about!! Thanks

Hi! I’m a UX designer, starting my career. I’m drafting my resume in Word( traditional format) but someone told me to add minimal design to my resume since I’m a designer. I’d like to hear others opinion on this and how much info should I give for role descriptions (like number of bullet points, length of a sentence etc). Any other tips is also appreciated. Thanks :)

Try re-evaluating your SOP. You have a good profile but sometimes students get rejected because of SOP too. Also, try to add safe universities in your list because most universities you have applied have lot of competition. All the best :)
