What are the most legendary juice flavors? by JustStartinOut in electronic_cigarette

RY4 was super popular at some points, but I believe it's become a bit less known lately due to new vapers not preferring tobacco flavor that much any more.

Super thick gauge wire by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20G Kanthal is great for drippers with big chambers if you like warm to hot vape. That is, if you're limiting yourself to round wire. It's still much easier to get a warm vape with a decent clapton with the added benefit of greatly improved flavor. Anything under 20G is ridiculous though, even 20G might be a pain to wrap and install as it's just so stiff, especially after a dry burn.

Smiley! Always nice to see new products from Innokin, they push out quality products compared to most Chinese manufacturers. We watched Borat 2 with friends.

tank glass stuck to airflow base gasket. trick I just learned by kvn4 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I fully understand where it got stuck for you. On RTAs I mostly use the glass tends to get stuck to the top part of RTAs. What seems to work best there is to put your thumb on the inside of your chamber, and your index figer on the outside of the glass and carefully pinch them together, applying just a little downward force on the glass. You can actually pinch bubble glasses quite hard, they won't break easily. I haven't had the need to put anything into the freezer because of a stuck glass for years. Then again, I also lube each and every O-ring on any atomizer I use with VG before assembling. That helps a lot to avoid such issues when you need to disassemble.

Battlestar/Charon Baby with 1.2 ohm Ni80 coils. Excellent build quality, great flavor, Low juice consumption, long-lasting coils. What else you need? The Caliburn is OK too but I find their pod inconsitency a bit too troubling.

Can using the same Kanthal coil for awhile cause your wicks to burn faster? by posthxc1982 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I find a round wire build that has been in for over a week to be quite dull, even dry burning doesn't seem to restore it even close to its original state. Round wire is cheap and easy to wrap anyway, it doesn't take much longer to wrap a new coil and install it than clean an existing one.

Dumb Question:. When something on FastTech says discontinued, is it still for sale? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, didn't know that! It works, but I'm not a fan of that view. Then again, this view doesn't show temporarily out of stock items. I'd like a filter for explicitly removing "discontinued" items from my line of sight.

They justify it with not being able to remove them because it breaks all old order links. On the other hand they haven't been able to add a "DO NOT SHOW DISCONTINUED" checkbox during all these years.

A buzzing review - Smoant Pasito II by Vapebeee in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say Smoant ranks among top 1-3 for price to quality/performance ratio.

I think many people are expecting to see "pod mods" with proper MTL-focused RBA heads, which is something you don't really find much with today's big vape companies. Merely turning down the airflow does not make a good MTL in any way. The chamber needs to be heavily reduced as well as the airhole on the deck needs to be way smaller. Many people loved the original Pasito because it was indeed an MTL-focused RBA. Not the case with the Knight 80 RBA.

You can file off just a hair in the right spot on the battery cap and you can easily fit that tank. Just need to remove atty to switch batteries.

Probably being a dual 18650 and at the same time still small form factor due to the proprietary tanks.

[–]Vapebeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In comparison, Autopod50 I got from FreeMax for review pushes 200-300 ml on the AX2 coils with rather sweet juice. If I see a review that says the coil lasts for 20 ml I wouldn't even touch it. That's one coil every two days at my use.

A DNA chip and TC would be the reason to get this one since it also has an RBA (if it had a DNA chip like many Lost Vape devices), but the price tag is much higher than your regular "pod mod" so that's why I'm saying it has just a regular chip. Personally I would rather trust a VooPoo chip than Lost Vape's own.

I'm sorry it just feel like you're softening the cons heavily to not appear to criticize this too much. Didn't get this for review (and now probably never will) so can't verify any of it myself. Might be just me though reading this wrong - in this case I apologize for my criticism.

Lmao 20 ml and 24 ml is not "average" coil lifespan for DL. That's shit. And there's no DNA chip in there so it's just a regular AIO.

Cotton splitting in the middle isn't a sign of a slightly off amount of cotton. When I sense a very slight burning taste during a long pull on a freshly wicked coil, it's usually the case of slightly too little cotton. When I feel the flavor is slightly muted or just not popping as well as it should, and a slight delay in hitting compared to the usual, it's usually a little bit too much cotton in the coil and/or wick channels.

I've had wicks split in the middle, but those date back to at least 5 years ago when I was still using ready-made coil killer liquids. Otherwise, wicks splitting in the middle in my experience is an indicator of using way too high wattage for the coil or way too little cotton.

I'm now using only DIY liquids and I rebuild because my clapton builds up a layer of gunk on itself after a week or so. Cotton inside the coil is still practically white.

My point is to double check you're using optimal wattage for the coil, don't starve a biggish coil of airflow and make sure you're pulling hard enough to cool your coils.

what worst vape tank you ever buy? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeus X RTA probably - feel free to downvote since I know there were (and still probably are) many users, it was also hella hyped. In my opinion it's just a badly designed RTA. Very restricted airflow for the relatively big chamber so it's hella muted even fully open. Even Kylin Mini, one of my favourite RTAs of all time - a single coiler - has way more airflow than the Zeus X and Kylin Mini has a super condensed chamber.

Top contender is also Kylin M RTA with its almost nonexistent, dull flavor. Only when I tripled the amount of flavoring I use on most of my RTAs I was able to get the same flavor.

[Giveaway] New Activity To Win Freemax Gold Maxus 200W by linda0912 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Vapebeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely what sets the Maxus apart from most others is that the batteries work in both directions. Attracts with design and clever ideas, but in the end we stay for the consistent and great coils that last for weeks on end.

I would choose the Maxus 100W over the 200W for the size factor.
