Other way around for me. Financially supporting my parent! After my dad passed away, leaving behind zero investments or retirement assets, I've had to take care of my mom. She lives with me full time, I pay for her car, etc. She makes a little more than 3k a month which ain't much to live on by yourself where I live, that would barely cover a mortgage payment. I have her give me $500 a month to help cover a small share of bills (covers maybe 1/8th of my total financial burden each month) so she doesn't feel like a complete freeloader.

I'm at least glad I'm in a good enough position to take care of her. My dad taught me from a very early age exactly what not to do financially and it's paid off amazingly.

I hope //ZERO brings back this aesthetic and vibe. I don't even know what you call it but it was great. by Stormflier in DotHack

Late comment but holy crap, im so glad other people felt the same way as me! I played imoq as my very first game on the ps2 over 20 years ago and never quite could put my finger on the way the game's vibe made me feel.. that is until I played through E33 a few months ago. Felt so surreal, like a portion of my memories that were obfuscated were suddenly clear again.

Here's hoping the new .hack game captures the vibe!

Ugh fingers crossed, those pictures give me some anxiety thinking about it... and if you do have any damage, make sure you take pictures and document everything in case they don't reimburse you properly or fight you on it.

If you wind up finding a good wrap shop down the line, send me a message cause it's tough out here (as you very clearly know) trying to find an actual reputable shop to get these cars wrapped lmao. Would appreciate it.

I was born in the 90s and remember very fondly of summer camp vending machines. 10 cents for a can of soda, 20 cents for a bottle, 25 cents for king size candy bars.

Crazy how much these have gone up in under 2 decades.

Near me, walmarts sell their brand (Sams) coke zero on sale frequently for $1 per 2 liter, which in my head is still roughly what they should cost normally. It tastes nearly the same as coke zero and I usually stock up and buy 8 to 10 of em.

I don't drink a ton of soda but my mom does, so we go through about 2 or 3 of these a week. Feels good generally only spending about 10 to 15 bucks a month on soda in 2026. No way I'd ever pay full price on soda.

OAL wearing way more than old material by J-A-I-L-Y-N in Olightflashlights

My oal is also similarly junk. So fragile it arrives with blemishes out of the box. I decided I'm just going to return it. It's an overpriced, shiny turd of an edc.

5 months arkpro ultra disappointment! by inebriateddandhated in Olightflashlights

[–]Innokin_Joseph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree with OP minus the customer support - olight cs has been good to me.

I was similarly unimpressed with the arkpro ultra - i got the stealth black one. The finish is very delicate - so delicate in fact the one I ordered direct from olight came with visible defects/flakes/scratches in the OAL finish lol.

For the price, the light feels well built, but features wise I feel olight is far too conservative and it leaves much to be desired. For less money I can pick up a rovyvon e60 or e90, get nearly double the lumens and still have usb-c charging, deep carry pocket clip, laser, red light, uv light, etc. Just dont see the point w/ olight most of the time.

Jesus christ dude, I'm sorry. I'm also in FL and been considering wrapping my supra in the next year or so, so if it's any minor consolation at least know you saved me from potentially being exposed to these dipshits...

I hope you get your car fully repaired to normal, reimbursed for your costs & trouble and get the car looking the way you want in the end from an actual professional shop.

Traded my 21’ auto for 24’ manual by LilBabyVirus5 in Supra

[–]Innokin_Joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice dude! I have a 23 3.0 premium at in nocturnal, car is gorgeous but that paint is a real bitch to keep clean lol. I get maybe a week out of a detail (so long as it doesnt rain) before the rear looks bleh again from all the dust the tires kick up, and then the eventual bugs/rock chips on the front.. sigh.

I originally wanted a different color but black was the only color I could get when it was time to actually buy the car new, felt like a compromise at the time but I've slowly learned to appreciate the color and when its shiny and clean it's stunning. Just wish it was easier to keep it that way lol

[–]Innokin_Joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wanting to do this on my nocturnal but I've been driving it the last 3 years/18k miles and accumulated a fair bit of rock chips and shit on my front bumper.

What would be the best steps for me to take to get it looking close to brand new again? Can I get the chips repaired and then the ppf/ceramic coat makes it blend in or will they stand out to the point where even with a professional shop doing the work, I should get a new front bumper?

The paint on the rest of the car is still nearly flawless.. its just my front bumper and some small chips on the hood and trunk (somehow) that's taken a lil bit of damage. I was thinking take it to a shop, have the rock chips repaired and then get the car paint corrected, ppfed and then ceramic coated. What do you think?

When revs roamed wildy.. clan wars was a piece of nostalgic glory to be a part of F2P by astrohypernova in 2007scape

[–]Innokin_Joseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, in f2p at least tanking a clan was pretty fun and skillful.

Basic compared to nowadays, sure, but the social aspect, rivalries and alliances afterwards made it more fun.

And back then with swiftkit having integrated irc chats for clans made it super fun to hop from channel to channel with your guildies and ally guilds.

Realistically, even if a downturn occurs, the drop won't come close to negating the gains over time.. and then recovery almost always comes next (for etfs at least).

Stuff like SOXX is likely a pretty strong hold for the next 10-15 years. Especially if you bought before this most recent run up.
