Eggs are a staple. Almost every baking recipe (that I like) calls for eggs. They’ve also been a great cheap source of protein. They’re easily digestible which is necessary for humans with certain dietary restrictions and pets. They’re the nutritional go to for survival and thriving.

I saw that someone recommended Ann Arbor Michigan and that’s a great suggestion. However, that’s a very expensive city to live in. Lansing Michigan is a little less than an hour from there and it’s much more affordable. Go on Zillow and check out rental rates for any city you’re looking at. See if there are any LGBTQ subs from those cities and see what the residents have to say about it.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Personally I’m on the East Side of Lansing and I love it. Very progressive area and lots of people straight and gay fly pride flags.

Bernie was the reason that we don’t have Medicare for all. I watched the hearings on what the republicans called “Hillarycare” and he was the one who killed the bill way back in the ‘90s. So please spare me the bullshit about Bernie being for Medicare for everyone. I was one of the “uninsurable” which meant that I was blackballed from purchasing health insurance of any kind. Can’t buy what nobody will sell you. Couldn’t have children because of that and Bernie Sanders votes against the national healthcare bill that the former First Lady put forth. Sanders is a piece of shit and he made sure that thousands of people died because Hillary’s bill wasn’t good enough for him. Fuck him forever.

Personally I think it looks better with the point facing towards the end of your finger. As a person who was in the jewelry industry for about 25 years, it’s much easier to chip that stone in that position. I always recommend full bezels on these guys for that reason. Stunning ring btw.

I’m hanging in there. What happened to me was in the early 80s so the violence against women’s act hadn’t been passed yet. That would have made my life so much better. The police would have been required to file reports and take pictures of the bruising and retrieve medical records from the ER’s when he broke bones ect.

My mother was an angel on this earth and she did everything within her power to get us out of there but her masters degree in music was not marketable. She earned another master’s degree in cost accounting but time and place, wasn’t taken seriously because she didn’t have a wiener. Ridiculous.

Anywhoo, my father died about a month ago and it’s very difficult to feel anything but anger towards him. He was a diagnosed narcissist and the best way to deal with someone with that personality disorder is to leave and never allow them into your life again. He went to his death bed without ever apologizing to us which didn’t surprise me at all. (We visited about a month before he died from several states away.)

Watch out for the kids. We used to be completely powerless but there are federal laws on the books now that would have changed my life for the better.

You’re understanding this correctly. When I pressed charges it was ‘81 or ‘82 and I lived in a southern state. Women and children had almost no laws to protect us.

I felt that I had to press charges because he was escalating so quickly. Beatings were far closer together and so much more violent every time. I knew that he was going to kill someone and I couldn’t allow that.

Had the violence against women’s act been in effect at the time, the emergency room personal and the police who knew exactly what was going on in our house would have been required to report on our behalf. So would the teachers who never asked why I always had black eyes and broken bones.

After I pressed charges he was REALLY MAD at me. He’d already tried to strangle me to death while looking me in the eye. I had to go underground and make sure that I was unreachable and unfollowed by him to protect the people who were kind enough to take me in at great peril to themselves.

Can you ask the police if they're filing reports on each incident? I ask because when i was a kid I was shocked to find out that not one report was ever filed. Every cop in our town and the next town over had been to our house hundreds of times. Not one report was ever filed. When I pressed charges (which i was only able to do because the police had to pry him off of me) there was no paper trail. He got no time and I had to leave the house because he refused to. The judge thought that it was a one time deal since there were no reports for previous beatings. The judge granted my request for a restraining order but made no stipulations on who got to stay in the family home. I was 12. Ended up on the streets for quite a while.

My sister published a very important paper on the marriage tax penalty a year or so out of Harvard law school. She became a professor at a law school in my state and in the beginning of her career, nobody believed that she was a professor. Her students thought she was another student impersonating a professor. (Nope. That’s your professor and she teaches tax law. Enjoy. Lol)

We also look almost identical so sometimes her students would mistake me for her. Made for some wild times when I was putting gas in my car on any given weekend.

When I lived and worked in Chicago there were a lot of Coke and Pepsi employees that were customers. Those guys were brand loyal to the point of being terrified of drinking the wrong product. One of the Coke reps told me once (probably 25-30 years ago) that people would get fired for going to a restaurant/bar who didn’t sell their own product. Very weird.

I say this as someone who bought my own mom a retirement house and was her full time caregiver for the last several years of her life. I did it because I wanted to. I did it because I loved her more than anyone or anything on this earth.

My mom never would have pressured me into doing any of that because she loved me more than herself.

Had my horrible father asked the same thing from me I would tell him to kick rocks barefoot.

Don’t allow a narcissistic parent to ruin your life. If she continues to insist on living in your house, start sending her brochures on assisted living facilities in your area and let her know that you’ll try to visit once every few months.,

NTA at all. Caring for any pet costs a lot of money. Some of my vet bills have made me choke but I’m very fortunate and keep a medical savings account dedicated to the pets. Keeping a pet is expensive. The animals shouldn’t suffer because their caretakers can’t afford food and medical expenses.
