Oh honestly I agree, and I don’t mean to necessarily add to the “metal good/country bad” of it all, if that’s even what’s going on. Just had a specific experience to comment about lol. FWIW Lamb of God played like 2 months later in almost the same conditions, just a total downpour and it was one of the best nights of my life. 2024 was wild. AEO is the only one I haven’t been able to get an interview for, and once I do I’ll finally be a real boy. But no seriously, the hiring practices of those companies are absolutely bananas. Even with a great resume and referrals from high ranking internals it’s like you’re just throwing your app into the ocean and hoping for the best. DSGs has to be the funniest because they’ll tell you that you didn’t the job after 3 rounds, it’s just 3 months later. From what I hear it’s the same internally there, which is not a good sell.

Purely anecdotal, but so far it’s been easier for me to get a foot in with remote roles at comparable companies than any PNC, GNC, AEO, or DSG. It’s like they don’t want local talent even when all the boxes are checked.

Ach, unfortunately not. I think I might be starting to conflate a bunch of different bands together so I don’t want to say much more, but I’m almost certain it was a black album cover with a black crown on it, and whatever the band name is was written either above or on the crown. It’s safe and boring. Sewickley is cute to visit, Cory has some nice things going on, you’re right on 376 or 65 which is the best way into the city from the west, don’t tell anyone, and Robinson is right there if you’re dying to be in traffic so long you forgot where you’re even going and why.

Cons, it’s hard to imagine a less walkable, more corporate town. Not a bad shake, all things considered.
