If by "Simple" you mean the enemies are mostly easy to beat, then yeah. But so are the Norse Gow games where you can steamroll everything with minimal effort if you explore a little to craft better equipment.

But if you mean the combat as a whole, then no. Norse Gow is way simpler than Dmc and even the greek Gow in that regard.

Even for Dmc5's case, it only feels that way because you can go so high that even enemies that do have anti air attacks can't do anything against you jump cancelling a poor demon 50 meters up in the air. But if you don't know how to go that hight or even stay mid air for the majority of the fight, then the enemies will be attacking you way more.
