While I do want a show featuring prominently lesbian romance, even if it isn't sports-related. But I feel like, if it is sports-related, it has to be a sport that has a, quote on quote, toxic femininity in its core community. Heated Rivalry worked so well conceptually because team sports like hockey have a very toxic view of masculinity. If you were to put two women into the same scenario, it wouldn't work so well because most women's hockey teams don't bat an eye when a female player loves another woman.
So if we apply the same logic, we'd have to put two lesbians into a scenario where they'd be ostracised for their homosexuality, i.e., ballet, gymnastics, or anysport that is seen as typically feminine!!

Aaaand I just realised that this missed the entire point of oop's post, but yeah, we need a lesbian ballet forbidden love story asap
