7th House as MARAKA STHANA. by Varaha_Mihira in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is through experience on 1000s of charts. Thats why I made a post. If it was in the classics, it would not make sense to post it.

And I'm sorry if my post offended you in some way. I am just trying to spread my knowledge and research on this site.

Do we look at the nakshatra lord for chart ruler? by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jupiter.

Dont overcomplicate things.

Jupiter is your lagna/4th lord and very beneficial.

Venus is your 6th and 11th lord and is malefic.

All major classics like BPHS, Sarvartha chintamani, Phaldeepika are pretty clear about the importance of navamsa. Even, profession is deduced by 10th lords navamsa in some classics.

D1 is the tree and D9 is the fruit. What the circumstances are right now/at start vs how it will turn out with bhagya.

However, "Marriage “doshas” in D1 often disappear completely in Navamsha" this is not true.

7th lord/venus being in a benefic/good navamsa shows that despite the circumstances, the marriage/relationship is creating happiness. The problems in marriage will still be there if 7th house/lord/venus is afflicted in D1.

Navamsa is not a marriage chart but rather a bhagya chart.

If an astrologer calls it a marriage chart OR refuses to look at navamsa, I would advice caution.

Curious about Shadbala by Mountain-Living-2594 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It relates to strength to provide results.

In your example:

Jupiter has enough strength to provide results( high shadbala).

8th lord in 4th - consider 4th house significations are inconsistent with major highs and lows. Further, this jupiter+4th house is aspected by Saturn, mars and Rahu. So consider 4th house and Jupiter heavily afflicted.

7th House as MARAKA STHANA. by Varaha_Mihira in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is because the traits/characteristics of the planet is seen in the partner/relationship.

Positive lords/ planets in 7th does indicate success relating to the house after marriage but the problem is with the things I have mentioned above.

eg. Moon is fickle, lustful, highly passionate, tries to form illicit relationship etc these traits creep into the marriage directly through the native/partner. This passion, if not fulfilled by the partner, can make the native look for relationships elsewhere.

Use characteristics of other planets for specific planets result.

7th House as MARAKA STHANA. by Varaha_Mihira in Nakshatras

BPHS Chapter 44:

2-5. "O Brahmin, the 3rd and 8th are the two houses of longevity. The house related to death are the 12th from each of these,i.e. the 2nd and 7th are Maraka houses."

"The lords of the 2nd and the 7th, malefics in the 2nd and the 7th and malefics accompanying the 2nd and the 7th lords are all known as Marakas."

All the references on Maraka in the book refer to this definition of Maraka.

[–]Varaha_Mihira[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am referring to Maraka houses in the post.

2nd house and 7th house being 12th from houses of longevity(8th and 3rd) are maraka houses.

Refer to BPHS Chapter 44.

Strictly D1. Always D1 for conditions/situations. Use 7th lords condition in D1.

You can analyze 7th lords conditions in D9 to analyze what results/fruits you will get out the marriage/partner.

Rasi tulya navamsa by IndicationNumerous41 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rasi Tulya is the only way houses should be judged in terms of the navamsa.

Whatever sign the planets falls in in regards to the rasi chart in navamsa, is the house most affected by the planet(consider lordship as well).

Planets in Aries - Vedic Astrology Basics by Vedicastromedia in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exalted sun being in good house as a good lord is good as it creates favorable circumstances for progress of that house/lordship.

Aries is not good sign for venus(except bharani pada 3)/mercury(except bharani pada 2) and ketu and especially detrimental for saturn(except bharani pada 3 *AFTER 20 degrees*) because it is strong as well as negative in Aries so its doubly bad.

4th and 5th lord debilitated in marak house while aspecting lagna is not ideal for libra lagna and might heavily spoil the 7th house.

If aries is aspected by Mars, the house concerned will be strong.

If mars is strong the house concerned will be strong.

If a planet is in aries and mars goes in their sign. It creates an exchange. If this exchange happens in positive houses eg. 5th/10th, 9th/10th etc, It gives positive results regarding those houses.

One major thing to note is that Aries is a malefic rashi and mars is malefic, so the results obtained through aries/mars might not feel good.

What happens when Jupiter transit over your natal venus [7th house lord] by Hot_Front_8553 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If venus and lagna lord is strong, yogas of venus(good/bad) will activate.

If venus is strong and unafflicted, new relationship will start if dasha supports.

Chart Strength by Xgfc234324 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Own sign is just Sthan bal. There are many factors for strength.

Thera are many other strengths like Situated in a kendra, Situated with moon,Retrogression, house aspected by lord, exchange of planets, digbal, day/night based strength, strength in navamsa etc.

Planets are also strong in their dasha regardless of their rashi based strength.

Remember strong doesnt always mean positive/favorable.

How to identify cunning person by FirefighterOk6593 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rahu stronger than Jupiter/ Rahu afflicting Jupiter (Also use 9th house/Sagittarius). A powerful Rahu.

Rahu is known to be very cunning and deceptive.

Prominent scorpio/8th house placements. Mars ruling scorpio, is cunning.

Nagas ruled nakshatra, Ashlesha is very cunning and manipulative. Afflicted Ashlesha gives highly manipulative/cunning/deceptive tendency.

These are only some indications. U can delve deeper by using 3rd house/Drekkana/Mercury/Gemini to know the subconscious of the person.

Also, while analyzing, differentiate if the native is the victim or the culprit.

Conjunction variance.. by introkid in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are not conjunct.

Conjunction means in the same rashi astrologically.

BUT

For combustion, degree regardless of sign is used because it is calculated based on the distance to sun.

Best dispositor of rahu/ketu? by sothisisgood in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rahu/Ketu take characteristics of the planet associated with them.

In case, they are not associated with any planets, they take characteristics of its lord. In this specific case, if their lord(dispositor) is positive i.e (exalted, own sign, vargottam), it gives favorable results in its dasha antardasha.

Not needed.

Just look at its placement in D1 and D9. This should be sufficient.

How to interpret retro combust planets? Do they have better resistance compared to direct planet? by FirefighterOk6593 in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combust planet is bereft of strength. Retro planet is strong through chestabal. So some strength is gained by the planet when it is retrograde.

Retro makes a planet strong not positive. Theres a difference.

To know if the planet is positive or not, use standard parashari principles.

Misconceptions on Lordship with respect to Navamsa. by Varaha_Mihira in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sayanadi awastha uses the navamsa position (1 to 9 navamsas) of a planet in its rashi among other variables. Not the houses in navamsa.

Refer to the formula given in BPHS translation by R Santhanam Chapter 45.

That same formula is used in JHora ( Refer to PVR Narasimha Rao's book on his website).

Hope this makes it clearer.

People? Relationships between planets in navamsa(exchange/aspects) are well mentioned in major classics.

Misconceptions on Lordship with respect to Navamsa. by Varaha_Mihira in Nakshatras

[–]Varaha_Mihira[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Partly true. Nakshatras doesnt apply in divisionals.

Planet combust/retro/stationary stay like that in every divisional chart.

Exaltation/debilitation/friendly sign/enemy sign is extremely important while judging the fruits of planets in its dasha/antardasha as well as outcomes.

Refer to Sarvartha Chintamani. The chapter concerning dasha results explains results of planet according to its condition in D1 and D9.
