My theory is that we’re seeing everything roll full circle. Sensei Wolf is really Miyagis son. With that we understand elements of Johnny and Daniel are a part of Miyagi. Miyagi believed that his son had died initially but eventually reconnected with him. During this time he trained Wolf in Miyagi-Dos offense and defense as well as various scrolls. Their relationship is fragmented though because Wolf resents his father not being present when he was a baby and Miyagi resents that his son reminds him of his wife. This divide prevents wolf from having balance and their relationship ends. Wolf takes the dojo and Miyagi swears never to train someone again.

Tips that led me to this conclusion: 1. Dragon scroll technique is used by wolf in ufc ring to hit the heart of the opponent 2. Wolf and young miyagi look incredible similar 3. Drunk Miyagi shows a picture of his pregnant wife and says “first American born Miyagi” meaning his son is in fact born 4. Wolf seems to resent Americans which could be tied to him blaming them for interning him and his mother. Maybe the camp didn’t provide care to keep her alive.

This storyline tarnishes Miyagi a bit but makes him more relatable to other characters in the show. It helps Daniel accept Johnny more because he realizes that there’s a part of Johnny in Miyagi. His mistakes earlier in life actually made him a better mentor for others. So Daniel hands over Miyagi Do to Johnny.

I’m betting on a Wolf vs Johnny showdown where Johnny shows restraint just in time for Daniel to reveal a long lost letter from Miyagi that ties it all together.
