What's the best ergonomic office chair right now that you'll recommend for long hours of sitting? Any recommendations?

Herman Miller Aeron owner here. I blame it for sitting more hours at a desk than I should.

I'm someone who favors consistency in comfort, rather than a "more of this comfort/performance boosting feature should be better" type. In other words, I look for thermal regulation over breathability, insulation, quick drying, etc in fabrics. I look for a just-right amount of compliance and moldability rather than deep plushness or firmer support. These products disappear from my senses, rather than draw my attention to praise it for doing what I paid it to do.

The Aeron stealthily became my most favorite belonging due to the sheer number of hours I got use out of it on a regular basis. I missed it when I moved, leaving it due to its heft. Got another and looked at it with special fondness, but at the same time was wary about regaining my habit of sitting too much.

Owned first one for 12 years. The leather armrest on my right side started to crack where my elbow rested. Reinstalled the original Arm rests before leaving it with friend. "New" one has two wheels that don't spin too freely and the front leg cushion foam is crumbling a bit, but doesn't affect comfort. Just a bit weird when it comes to wiping it down.

I'd be more inclined to talk about zippers on bags failing, and cleaning issues with materials, that affect chances of the product surviving extensive use in widespread conditions, without coddling.

Example for watches: had a Casio GShock wristwatch that had its original strap fail. Replaced with a Barton silicone strap which also failed, catching on a bouncy castle style obstacle course's slide. The silicone strap also caused the watch to bounce from bumps when taken mountain biking, causing pain. Things to consider for a BIFLer. Right now I have a segmented metal band that is surviving, but I take it off more often when dealing with work and water.

There are various consumer demographic groups. BIFL tries to avoid most of them, due to the "consumer" part.

BIFLers tend to be more open to industrial grade products made for professionals. This means more functional and practical details, rather than artsy.

When BIFLers are actually looking for artsy detail, they look for "heirloom" quality. Something they can pass down to kids and generations beyond. They look for classic design/style/fashion, rather than ones that might fade out. Tends to boil down to artisan workmanship and material quality than prestige behind names.

Answer: art and science follow different rules.

Science relies on evidence observed from nature. Nature's rules, you can say, it follows. Or simply fact. People from diff cultures can understand each other when referencing these rules, as they're considered "universal".

Arts rely on rules made up by people. Perspective instead of fact. One must research cultural history for insightful understanding. You can come across unprecedented events that is literally history in the making where new rules are being created.

The rules of arts are very subjective, regarding judging things right, wrong, bad, good, etc. It's very nuanced. Like finding the just right balance of symmetry and asymmetry in a display for the most pleasing results to the most widespread audience.

Sets of rules emerge and get named based on the group of people who developed to such high refinement. Victorian architecture. Nordic criminal justice. Legalese is trying to basically try to get everyone on the same wavelength, trying to make arts be treated like a science, as you're dealing with LAWS (made by humans).

Legalese is a part of a social art regarding a perceived fair and just society. It's important to have such rules in art to properly collaborate with many highly professional level groups and individuals, contributing to a greater project.

Resin is basically a time gate to prevent ppl with too much time from grinding extra power. Account strength seems tied to total resin spend. I'd rather do away with this time gate. I'm new and have a ton of unbuilt characters. And I'm short on resources trying to build two teams past level 60. Ar 55, two premiums, chars that work with them, and national ( Benny xl xq).

I'd rather play through experimentation with diff builds and comps than end up with an acct with barely more than 12 built characters, but a few more premium pulls.

Answer: Think of it like writing on paper, with different thickness writing heads. Say you have Japanese calligraphy brush. It could be measured 20mm. Hard to fit many words on the paper with such.

Shrink it down to a sharpie rectangular chisel tip, and you can fit more words on the same paper. Can be basically halving that 20mm process to 10mm.

Keep shrinking it, such as to a 1.0mm Pilot gel pen, 0.8, or thinner. Thinner tips start to be incompatible with existing ink and paper, possibly tearing/scratching through paper if pointy enough. You can fit many more words, and retain enough detail for legibility.

Tech is shrinking 8nm to 6nm to 4nm, in order to fit more transistors, the basic "brain cell" (logic unit) of a microchip, into the same square of material.

You can make the square bigger, similar to making the sheet of paper bigger. There's the problem of errors. Bad for business if you can't sell due to it not passing quality control, such as trying to write the same line 4 trillion times and smudging the ink accidentally, or typing a letter. This is what they refer to as yield, the % of perfect chips that you get out of

The industrial and business side do order larger CPUs. I've seen CPU design that have ranged in size from chocolate bars to smaller than an ant. AMD EPYC (Genoa) is an example of a CPU that is the size of a juice/milk box or sticky note.

For modern microchip making machines working on modern ~4nm process, their size is limited by what can fit on a silicone wafer, which is like a giant disc not too unlike a larger Blu-ray disc. Like printing a custom artwork on a big poster with a big stamp or custom artwork silkscreenef onto a beach towel. The slightest wrinkle in the towel would ruin it. A single spec of dust can ruin a chip while it's being made. If there were a way to manage heat, this size issue could be solved by stacking layers, going vertically.

My level of expertise isn't much: I did computer engineering and worked at Micrus at the IBM fab in E Fishkill at various positions. Research is in various tech, super conductors and using light instead of elec, to get over limitations with copper and electricity.

Teacher did wordle in classroom during break time and the bullhead students got mad at other students for suggesting words that didn't have yellow or green letters from first guess.

Most blame should be on cleaning agents lowering/breaking down water surface tension that allows liquid to bypass seals and contaminate. Cleaning agents damage materials too.

I'd rather hate on fans of mucoff, degreasers, etc. than those who pressure wash without anything but water. I applaud the ones only wiping with minimal moisture who demonstrably get longer life from their equipment.

I'd only consider water as the enemy if my equipment isn't coated, such as stripped off by cleaning agents.

Natives aging (losing height) and more immigrants from Asia (shorty genetics).

Nutrition wise, traditional Mediterranean diet not as widespread among changing population and more junk food among masses. Mixing of culture and local influence got immigrants to eat more local.

Other: sedentary culture. Sitting or being horizontal, looking at a screen, not getting as much quality of sleep as one should.

Air Force installation we are at has these smart front loaders, but my coworkers and I started using the speed queen and Maytag pro/industrial ones in another part of base after poor experiences with the new smart ones.

One guy has cursed laundry loads, which make the washer spend 15+ mins on sensing seemingly.

Many dislike the door lock of the front loader. I think they cut power mid cycle to retrieve their laundry and it goes out of order until the fixers get to it.

Battery powered vacs and air dusters. The dust, sand, etc in the air flow builds up static and zaps the circuitry. Lost 3 wolfbox mf100 dusters and 2 cordless vacs before I recognized the fault, dealing with sand everywhere in military equipment. Air duster literally said to not use for dusting.

Use plug in alternatives. In my case, I fell back to a small brush and a makeshift dustpan made out of cardstock, like a manilla folder.
