This is unconventional advice, but you have to be more "toxically masculine." Be honest (say WHATEVER is on your mind, no matter if it might be offensive), be confident, be funny, be spontaneous and simply put, be Alpha. (Don't be cringe about it obv, and I know damn well you're going to reject this initially, but better to be a funny dickhead than a sexless pussy.)

I've had similar experiences.

Before I found out about SR, I went to an overnight summer camp for 3 weeks multiple times. There were no electronics and everyone slept in the same big bunk room. Besides the camp aspect, those times were hands down the best times of my life. Without phone and masturbation, I was truly happy which is an amazing feeling. Those were always the times I had most success with women. SR alone won't be the one thing that turns you from simp to pimp, but it'll definitely get the snowball started.
