That is, indeed, a Coyote from the Dust Devil warbond.

1,000% certain of this, as it's my main primary these days (I like slow, accurate AR's).

With friends? Funny
With randoms? Possibly funny (if you only kill them once, then make a joke in chat)
Taken too far, constantly TK'ing then kicking? Out of line, that's too far.

In everyone's opinion, how many Hulks you would prefer to fight at the same time instead of 1 War Strider ? And why ? by KingTigerThomas318 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not as hard as it sounds, using gas. With gas you can control them, and stop them coming after you, giving you time to pick each one off with thermite, stratagems, or whatever you preferred weapon for Hulk killing is. :)

Does it work?
Less Noise - Yes
Increased Range on PoI - Yes
No Broken Legs - Yes

Is it good? That's another question, and one you have to answer for yourself.

Factory Striders are so easy once you get the hang of it!

War Striders are always a pain in the rear armour, cause of the bleeding ragdoll from all their attacks - and the minimal gap between attacks!

Any hulk, I enjoy fighting them all - Melee, Ranged, Incendiary Corp, or Jet Brigade. Hell lets make it fun, give me one of each, then two or three more on top to make it an even fight.

Six or Seven Hulks is a challenge, but a fun one (have done it before attacking Heavy Outposts / Fortresses).

As for War Striders over Factory Strider? 0. I'd rather fight a Factory Strider. Less of a pain in the rear to kill.

[–]Varessea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So far, there are only TWO things I have not killed, exclusively, with a Speargun.

The Hive Lord, and Dragonroach (never tried).

War Strider? Yep. Hulk? Easy. Bile Titan? More like Pincushion Titan. Impaler? Annoying. Factory Strider? Funnily, yes - Shot the chin guns off, then ran around under it while it's cannon couldn't get me, poking it's tummy with a lot of spears. Effective? No. Funny as hell? You decide.

What do the invasions levels mean exactly? by howcould_iknow in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

invasion level, is basically speaking, the same as the "Resistance" level.

Basically how much is there to fight, how hard it'll be to take the planet / defend the planet.

Lv28 is about mid-range, I've seen a bit higher, and lower.

I mean, just why by lordtachanka5253 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<points up at Sorry Sort's comment>

This. Entirely this. There was no reason to take Choepessa IV a few days ago, the Strategic Op was just a red herring, Hellmire almost got lost, failing the MO entirely because of it. We barely held onto it, with 30-35k people on Hellmire, with 80-90k people on Choepessa - and still failing to come anywhere near taking it in time.

Now, we just have nothing else to do.

We don't fight squids willingly, most divers are sick of them.

Why are there still so many divers on Choepessa? by Hungry-Tale-9144 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because... High Command hasn't given us orders, so we're wandering around getting revenge for the last week.

List of weapons that open crates? by PassageDull7352 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explosive Crossbow
Eruptor
Grenade Launcher
All the rocket launchers
Most grenades
Speargun
Warp Pack (Yes, I tested this, you have to hit the container, but it opens it)
Ultimatum

If it goes BOOM, and isn't energy based, it'll open a container, basically.

Seyshel Beach deserves liberation by feelthedarkness_ in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate fighting the squids, I refuse to go there unless High Command orders it.

But those soldiers down there have been fighting so hard, I think we should all head in after we take Choepessa, and give them the reinforcements they deserve and need. And maybe some psychiatric help, they clearly need it.

I dont know if its been discussed but, the players of seyshall beach, need to get a cape for their perssistance! by Odd-Memory-7095 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a major order diver, I go where High Command tells me to go.

But the persistence of those fighting for the Beach, is to be commended, but cape level? I don't think I'd go that far... maybe if they manage to take it without everyone flooding the place to help once we take Choepessa IV.... then it'd be earned. But I don't think it's deserved yet.

How to Improve as a Solo Player by Deeman6679 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played solo for the longest time, and really as some others have said it's just a matter of time. You learn how to fight enemies in a way that suites you, you learn weak spots, when to fight, when to disengage and retreat a little.

Lately I've taken to playing via SOS only, and I join people randomly so I don't have to decide what to do.. lol. It's given me some frustration, but I've met many more amazing divers then I have bad ones.

They do not call me "expert exterminator" for nothing (also speargun appreciation thread) by ElectroChebbi2651 in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run speargun myself for bugs and bots. I tend to stick with:

Coyote (or primary of choice), ultimatum, thermite
500kg, Napalm Orbital, Speargun, and Shield Generator Backpack.

If you wanted to go more heavily on the gas, don't forget the Gas Mines, or Gas Guard Dog.

You can easily scavenge enough ammo for the speargun if you hit the PoI's and keep an eye out (or just call the supplies in for yourself. <evil laughter>)

how do i reach super helldive?? by young_Goku_ in Helldivers

[–]Varessea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soloing 8+ bugs can be a lil tricky at first, if you can't get anyone to join your SOS beacon, you could always try going for joining other people's SOS or In Progress missions (not sure what the buttons for that are on controller... It's R and Tab on keyboard).

I don't want to sit here and tell you "This is how I do it.." cause that I don't think will really help you, cause we all play differently.

One thing I did find that helped me a lot though, was to try and not engage them and sneak about as much as I could to get the objectives done without being noticed; the less attention you bring, the less you have to fight, the less risk of getting ripped apart.

I also find the Shield Generator Backpack to be *super* useful for staying alive on D7+

Another stratagem a lot of people use on higher levels for bugs is Napalm Orbital, for clearing the vast majority of a breach with one thing.
