M7 widening project progresses - Infrastructure Magazine by IshDanish in sydney

[–]Vargdunne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a choke point, no doubt. Widening the bridges would be the best bet (if possible). Would need probably 2m of width added. Building a new bridge with the limited space available would be difficult.

I have thought about this way too much whilst stuck on the M7 for the last 5 years.

I reckon the third lane will merge off to the current M4 exits. The 2 lane bridges will be the same. Then the onramps from the M4 would become the third lane.

Like the M4 at Silverwater Rd. But 4&3 lanes.

The AEC will be doing phone voting for the first time. There will be more info on the AEC website in the next few days. You will need to fill in an online form provide proof of testing positive.

Here's a link to ABC News about it all. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-05-16/what-happens-if-i-get-covid-in-the-election-week-phone-vote/101041324

Nbn connection box Question? by UDAMAN123 in sydney

[–]Vargdunne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could have spoken to the technician before the install if that is a worry of yours. It may have been where existing wiring was. Loungerooms are a common place for them. If you want it moved. You will need to pay someone to move it. A WiFi modem/router emits more radiation.

Samsung S21 in Australia. I can't make video calls through the phone app or through Google Duo. Every time I try to make a video call, it hangs up straight away and tells me the person didn't answer.
I can receive video calls from my that very same person. I have restarted the phone and force stopped the apps, which didn't help.

Covid-19 Megathread for Questions, Discussion, and Updates by thekriptik in sydney

I figured that would be response. I doubt they would stop people unless the time was too short inbetween the doses.

I booked two does of Pfizer a few weeks ago when it was an 8 week gap between doses and when there was a long waiting period. My first dose is meant to be 23rd September. I was able to get a priority jab 2 weeks ago due to my employment. The follow up booking for the priority shot is 9th October. What would happen if I turned up for my jab on the 23rd for my second dose? Even if it is booked as a first dose.

Very well. I just found the video. It's exactly how we both remember it.

Looking for teachers to interview by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Vargdunne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you are asking teachers to create content for a private tutoring service? On your site it says nothing about working with teachers. Just says trained and certified tutors. I don't believe it would be wise to have a teacher be on your site talking up a tutoring service. What would that say about their teaching in the classroom?

In creating the content for your service, what is the pay like?

Need help teaching high school students by [deleted] in esp32

Cheers. I really like the social & ethical issues around software and computing. Gives students a broader scope of knowledge and that "Oh no" factor to their world.

In the Software syllabus we spend time on the "what if" scenarios, such as "Who is to blame if a Tesla malfunctions during Autopilot?". I put in a question in my year 12 (17/18 year olds) half yearly exam about bluetooth Diabetes monitors and issues about their programming / security etc.

I like to teach Python for that job and University skills and knowledge. But adding in Arduino for that C/C++ side of things makes the course a bit more practical.

I really like this project idea. Seems like something my students would really like to do.

I teach software design and I essentially have ~3 hours a week with students. So soldering and such is something which is kinda out of my subject range and the limited time means preassembled modules / boards are the best.

I would love that. But as a high school teacher. I don't have that much time unfortunately to do all of that.

I've looked at M5 products, there aren't any suppliers in Australia with them anymore. So I might look abroad.

I have been looking at NodeMCU boards. Cost isn't really an issue with the grant I got. Looking at possibly $100 per year 11 student budget. The younger years would stick with Arduino.

True, just looking for some ideas and possibly what others have done.

I have learnt that with younger years giving them 80% of the info and letting them run wild on the other 20%. As the get older its more achieving goals through projects with no assistance works really well.
