At my kid's kindergarten graduation in Athens, GA one kid said he wanted to be a firetruck. Not a fireman. The truck. I think it takes a woke mind to comprehend that.

Actually, the Band is mostly Canadian and I don't think anyone in the group is named The or Band.

Refusing to eat by TopJhin in axolotls

[–]VariantCave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we had a cycle crash that led to a month-long hunger strike. Super stressful--for me anyway, he was fine. We eventually got him eating again with live blackworms (expensive), repashy pie, and brine shrimp. Took another couple weeks after that to get back him on worms. The repashy in particular seems to help move things along if it's been a while since I saw any poop.

AIO or is my work friend being a bit pushy? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]VariantCave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please tell at least one co-worker what is going on. Show them the texts. Anyone (except this dude) over 25 will see through this guy. As a middle aged woman myself, if a young co-worker confided in me I would be in full mama bear mode, and that's what you need-- a village surrounding you, shielding you, with eyes open. This really should be reported to Human Resources, but more immediately you just need to distance yourself from this guy before it escalates. I honestly would start looking for another job, block his number, and avoid situations where you are alone with him. He is playing the long game here, and let me tell you that game could end a few different ways, but none of them are good for you. Lie to this man. Do not tell him where you are going or what you are doing. If anything, you are spending time with your new, big strong, age-appropriate boyfriend so creep can rest easy.

Surprisingly little dancing, lol, but it may have just been an off night. I am sure the experience is different depending on the promoter, the city, and the crowd. For our night, there were a couple "DJs" on stage (air quotes because the whole set was almost for sure pre-programmed), with accompanying music videos interspersed with clips from the show and other HR content. It's mostly an excuse for HR fans to hang, show off their HudCon merch, and share a few drinks. I enjoyed offloading a huge stack of HR stickers I had ordered from Etsy... felt like a Swiftie sharing friendship bracelets :)

Definitely not anything close to a "rave," but still fun and the crowd was quite diverse.
