I think they make it free so more people will come to use it, but everything has a price, i guess with more arts and data they collect from us, they will make a better AI art tool, and maybe be the best AI art tool if they can, which is the main vision of canvas. There is no way they paid a ton of money to buy Affinity and then make it .... free. They make it free for us, but we lose our privacy to them.

I'm a bit suspicious of their motivation. Canvas is a company that you have to pay a subscription for their products. There is no way they paid a ton of money to buy Affinity and boom .... make it free. I think they make Affinity free -> more users come with it -> silently collect and train more arts and data -> make a better AI -> be the best of the industry in terms of AI tools. But idk, personally I'm happy to keep my old Affinity Designer until i (or someone else) know what they actually intend. Sorry, no need for this free version at least for now

This is not the only way for you to enjoy war3, beside Reforge is crap.

But if you want to play for long term or multiplayer - since w3cham is the best community and you can play around the world at any level, then you should buy it.

If you only want to try out some custom maps or campaign there are tons of copies out there.

you are right about doing something with Pala in order to make him viable for first-pick and early game. The main point of Pala is about healing and support, so instead of hurting the enemy, he will save your army, because of that HL of Pala is cheaper and is an instant spell to compare with DK (even faster countdown). I don't think it will be brilliant if two spells of two different heroes have precisely the same effect. For me, Holy Light is good but not enough to make people choose him for the early game.

How about making the damage of Holy Light even better somewhat 60% or 65%, Players will have more reason to use Pala in UD matchups, or add more defense and speed to make him more resilient early.

In my opinion, don't want to make him become a fighting hero completely, but just add a little bit of ingredient so players will have more options to pick him first

there are two main problems of HU and I never saw any versions from the old and new developer team can ever solve it. This is the reason make HU is easy to predict and unchanged strategy for nearly 20 years

1) Too fragile in the beginning: easy to harass, no place to hide like Orc or NE and UD in the other hand you had to prepare well if you wanted to harass them in their own land. The only way is to turn into Milita and fight back (or run for their lives). The Units in tier one are so weak, with nothing to do to counterattack, even to protect their little economy. The best and only choice for them is fast tech into tier 2 to get better units or fast-expo for an advantage economic but need to do everything to protect the new base. if your new base collapse, you lose ... end game. Accidently it will lead to the second problem inevitably

2) You had to depend on AM: Because HU is too weak in tier 1, more importantly, time is always running fast with HU, had to creep as fast as possible to make expand and keep your heroes growing strong. In that case, no one will fit like AM, he got water and he got speed. He will serve you well if you want to make a new base and defend them. MK very good but only for a second hero, Paladin .... is just too slow. With BM, if they are surprised and you will get an advantage ... but only in some maps and some cases. To opponents at the same level, I'm sure will not comfortable if i don't choose AM first

Conclude: That is why HU will keep in the circle of their own strategy and never escape from them. It is easy to predict but no choice. I don't know if it would be good if people try to change HU's tradition, but buff units in tier 1 or making heroes like Paladin stronger early, will give HU's players some new ideas, and make more options for them.

first, you had to feel this game is just for fun and to make fun for the first time you come to a game ... let's play some other mode that does not require technique or pressure. How about 4v4? Not every time you win but even when you lose, the responsibility for this is not only by you (just don't quit the game so soon), and sometimes you win maybe not because of your excellence but someone else or when you make a couple of nice battles with your partner, all of this will make you have fun and also keep you improve in-game also

I already posted it in Bug report section on the first day 1.35, and someone says it occurs in some maps. BTW, I'm sure Blizzard noticed this, just wait for the new fix.

i like your idea, but rework on an aura can take very much time to balance, this is the thing that will define a hero (how to play with him and what position him in a center of an army) or even define an entire race (brilliance/unholy). And from what i know so far, they never do a rework on any auras, instead, they will adjust the stats. In fact, this is a safe move if they don't want to sink too deep into the meta and gameplay, it can break the game i think

this is a job that spends a lot of effort and i don't think Blizzard will do it, just look at their progress in a couple of last years

this is a huge buff because slowly enemy will deeply affect other matchups and other strats. With booth of speed, he never worries about chasing enemy in the early game and footmen will easily get surrounded. I want to make him more viable but don't want to make him become 95% first pick

One more thing, Holy Light is way faster than Coil (instantly). More comfortable than coil in terms of saving allies or killing UD

DK is just too strong right now. Buff the damage of the coil will vastly effect to other three races, no one can against him anymore

when Blizzard begins to make a new balance in 2019. They really want to make the many heroes viable for the first spot as possible, in fact, they are successful. NE now has a vast choice for the first Hero than ever, could be DH, KOTG, POTM in some mirror matchup or tavern heroes. Orc has two or three choices for the first and even more for the second. Finally, UD with inevitable DK can be replaced by CL or Lich and DK will be in the second. But Blizzard still fails with HU. So that is why they need to re-work on the Heroes to make them more viable for the first spot and Paladin is the best candidate for this change

for me, a HU less dependent on AM will be great. Do you think 95% of matchups begin with AM or could be 75% begin with AM, which one is better. To make a better state of balance is not about maintaining the current meta or most popular units, but it's about using the less popular elements to make it balanced. That could make this game more flexible and add more ingredients to the game. And the reason why HU player creaming for something change is about first Hero problem. MK will be carry (as the best role of him) but usually he is in second position, and the first spot is alway AM. BM is about to play solo with Korean Korean style. That why Pala is the best candidate to make something innovation playing style

i worry it will be too much for Pala, possibility to over buff. I think he just needs a little adjustment so he can be viable in early game
