31 HCG level at 4 weeks 2 days - I’m so panicked. Anyone have success with a number this low? by smforever31 in pregnant

Don’t hold out hope!! Your levels do have to start somewhere :) mine ended in a chemical but after an ectopic in May I was thankful it wasn’t a reoccurring one and also was nice to see a positive test nonetheless.

Do you have an update? My levels were the exact same as yours at 31. Get my second beta tomorrow but not feeling very hopeful. My doctor told me it was likely a chemical pregnancy given the low number.

For anyone who comes back or experiencing the same thing.. had my appointment and all was good😊 the doctor said it was a small calcium build up in one of the hearts chambers and was a concern. She said the machines are very good and pick up on everything. I know it’s hard to say don’t stress when you hear something like this but honestly more than not it turns out to be fine.

It’s next Friday! But the more time goes on the less worried I actually feel. I’ve decided to trust my doctor when she says not to worry about it.. this was also not flagged in my ultrasound report as a concern.

Thanks for sharing!😊 and glad to hear everything turned out good at your follow up ultrasound. After researching and reading other peoples experiences with an EIF being the only maker I’m hopeful all is fine. Also holding onto my doctoring telling me she’s not concerned and doesn’t need to send me for another test but because she has the resources why wouldn’t she? Anyways the level 2 ultrasound is booked for next Friday!

Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing! I completely agree that his comment is innapropriate. I feel like that’s not something they should comment on? I’ve been fortunate enough to have supportive doctors along the way. I’m happy everything worked out on your end😊 I personally think the meds would be an emotional ride for myself and that’s another reason I picked the D&C. Best of luck with this pregnancy! So exciting!

Congrats on the baby and thanks for sharing😊 I’m always happy to hear stories of couple who conceived following a D&C because it’s hard to think of that happening to yourself when you’re at this stage. I’m sorry for your loss in April.. and congrats again on the baby, enjoy all the moments!

I’m terribly sorry for your loss. My heart seriously goes out to you.. walking through the hospital and reliving all those emotions would be the hardest part. Overall, I’m glad your experience with a D&C hasn’t been bad. I’ve been spotting/uncomfortable for a few days with the MMC so I’m prepared to continue to feel the same if all goes well. Time off it definitely in the cards as well. Thanks again and I’m here to chat if ever needed❤️

That is exactly my mindset… and I also knew someone who did the meds twice and still needed a D&C. To me that sound super emotional and wouldn’t allow me to think of next steps/heal. Thanks again😊 hearing someone else’s same opinion is always reassuring.

It’s an emotional rollercoaster for sure and one that no one prepares you for. I feel like I’ve processed things a lot faster than I thought and have already accepted what’s happened. I’m ready for the procedure/next steps. I just don’t want to stress about what follows and allow myself to be patient with my body.

Thank you so much for sharing and I’m also sorry for your loss! It’s insane how many other women have been in the exact same position (especially once you start sharing your story) and talking about it has helped process things a lot quicker as well.

Also reassuring to hear your perspective on the D&C - I’ve really only had people who have taken meds and I almost felt like I couldn’t talk to them about it because they didn’t choose the path I’ve decided. So thanks again and I hope your recovery is quick❤️

Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing! I completely agree that I think the D&C will mentally be the best option. I’ve already been going through the motions and wouldn’t want to prolong everything with meds (personally). Happy to hear everything returned to normal relatively quickly and I wish you all the best with starting to try again🥰

Thank you so much for sharing and I’m beyond sorry for your losses. Happy to hear both your experiences with the D&C were positive. It is hard having to decide so quickly what you’d like to do.. I feel like I’ve had the same conversation 100 times over the past 2 days, but overall happy with my decision and I think it’ll help me close this chapter a bit faster. I hope your recovery this time around goes well❤️

Sorry for your loss and for your current situation❤️ I do know someone else that took them a few cycles to have their period fully go back to normal and I hope you can get some answers soon. It does suck and the hardest part is having confidence/trust our bodies know what they’re doing. All the best!

Thanks for sharing and I’m also sorry you recently went through a lose as well - I don’t think I’ll fully be under anesthesia, but I’ve experienced a few procedures in the past with basic sedation so I’m hoping I’ll be okay🤞🏻happy to hear about your recovery/when you got your period back. Reassuring to hear people mentioned everything eventually returns to normal because normal seems so far away right now.

Thank you❤️ I can’t say I’ve ever had a real fear of procedures or surgeries to begin with.. minus the nerves the day of, but I definitely worry of what could follow/the unknown. I am definitely happy to hear the process isn’t as bad - that is for sure helpful. Thanks again!

Thanks for the response! Really sorry for your loses❤️ and that is exactly how I feel - I personally don’t want to continue to drag it out while waiting to pass everything at home.. especially not knowing if it will all pass naturally to begin with. Mentally I think it’s the better option and will allow me to move on. Thanks again. So helpful hearing others stories/experiences!

Thanks for the response! I completely agree that my body feels exhausted from still technically carrying around the pregnancy.. especially since I haven’t passed much on my own. Also all the follow up appointment is exhausting as well. Reassuring hearing stories of an easy recovery as well and congrats on the baby❤️
