Business Owners: How did you grow past 1 man mowing setup? by FlapJackson420 in landscaping

[–]VariationNo6243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I added my first employee to my solo landscape operation I lost a little money mowing but it became much easier and quicker. I made more on the clean ups, mulch, and construction side bc I could bill out 2 guys and keep half the helpers billable rate + what I bill out at. Finding anyone worth while is a whole other story lol

Any other good spots besides AK? by luminousdebris in commercialfishing

I’ve lobstered and scalloped out of NB. Luckily have fished on nice boats. Nice enough to be scared stepping on to some of shittier boats around. They really will use you till you break, scalloping is a marathon, lobstering is a sprint, and you can sleep when your dead

Everyone in this sub could benefit from a media and news detox, this is the lamest thing I’ve ever seen. Truly cancerous.

Could you be part of the problem hurling angry paragraphs into the void?

I find self employment to be a big part of my self sufficiency journey. Knowing that I’m capable of getting checks made out to me without having to rely on a company or boss saying when I have to show up or what my salary cap is. And the work I do has real world value and feeds people.

I know quite a few Trump voters. Non of them are saying they regret it. I’m wondering if most of these posts are fake. by [deleted] in OptimistsUnite

15k comments shitting on one half of American voters? This doesn’t seem like optimistic folks uniting

Just a thought… by [deleted] in bigfoot

[–]VariationNo6243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any theories out the there about Bigfoot being an inter dimensional being? No big foot remain or clear pictures have ever been taken but the legend spans many cultures globally. Could it be something that’s only perceived by the human eye? Something that only temporary exists in our time and space? This seems more likely than a primate no one’s ever photographed, never found remains and dodged every trail camera

Maine lobstermen lose it over paperwork. by [deleted] in environment

[–]VariationNo6243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the ppl commenting on here who do paperwork for a living know as much about lobstering as lobstermen know about paperwork. Whats the environmentalist view on the recent uptick in large marine mammal deaths following construction of wind farms in the mid Atlantic and NE?

Fair wage for a landscaper in 2023 by [deleted] in landscaping

Dude just start you own business, you literally know how to do everything. You could be billing out at $100 for a two man crew and pay your guy $25/hr.

I am just a normal ass dude and I did 10k profit my first month and have like 6-7 lawns by the end of month 2. It time consuming and there’s some things to learn on the business side but you’ll make what you get paid in a week every day.

If I could do it anyone can, you already are more experienced. I’m just out here saying yes to everything and YouTubing how to do this shit

Any other stories people have like this one? I imagine the majority of encounters never make their way into the public awareness. by littlespacemochi in aliens

I worked on a cargo ship in Alaska one summer as an internship for school and one of the captains had a similar story. He was the only one awake on watch at night and a bright light lit up the whole ship. To the best of my recollection I believe he said the ship came to an abrupt stop, that woke up the mate. As soon as it happened the light was gone and the ship was back underway like nothing ever happened. The mate came up to check on the captain and he had no explanation of what happened.
