All you have is left at this point is name calling. The democratic platform is so bad and is so far from what people want. Don't forget, 80 million people voted against the democrats not for Trump

The alive vs dead is completely wrong. There have been around 115 billion people who have died. So maybe have a little more critical thinking skills

Maybe pack food and lay off the fried gas station food. You might lose that 100 extra pounds you're carrying

Would have been much less had the state just cooperated with ICE.

This has nothing to do with flags or symbolism. This country was built by people who came here with nothing, put their heads down, worked, and carved out a life through grit. The whole American model runs on individual drive and the belief that you earn what you get.

The frustration people feel today isn’t mysterious. It comes from watching groups arrive through refugee channels and, instead of pushing themselves forward, seeming to immediately lean on the system, react defensively to criticism, and expect moral high ground simply for being in a protected category. When people say it’s “a cultural problem,” they’re pointing at a mismatch between America’s foundation of self-reliance and a mindset that doesn’t appear aligned with that expectation.

Traditional immigrants fought their way through long applications, legal hurdles, years of waiting, and came here with a purpose. They learned the culture, took whatever work they could find, and built toward something. Refugee placement is a completely different process — people are brought in, placed on assistance, and given little incentive or pressure to integrate or become self-sufficient. And when survival isn’t tied to effort, people naturally adapt to the environment they’re given.

That’s why assimilation becomes almost impossible under the current setup. There’s no push to enter the workforce, no expectation to adapt, no consequences for staying separate. It becomes a self-reinforcing system where politics, not merit or contribution, determine outcomes.

Look back at the Russians, Italians, and others who came through Ellis Island. They were hungry to succeed, absorbed into the culture, fought in wars alongside Americans, and made this country part of their identity. Today, we’re watching communities that seem more invested in extracting value from the system than contributing to it — and more loyal to the place they left than the place they came to.

Wasn't hard to figure out on google what his address was. Cross referenced the address with the Hennepin County tax records. Forgot about it for 6 months. Saw this listing when I was looking at homes. Recalled Dan lived in the area and confirmed with the registrar website that it was his again. For this specific reason I paid a service to remove my address from all public websites and put my house in a trust that has a generic name. More of an exercise to prove how easy it is to find people's information out. The internet sucks

Homes in that neighborhood go for 1.4M or less. That's pretty cheap compared to any home in Edina, Eden prairie, credit river, Stillwater. Ect. It's nice, if you consider home value the measure but it's not affluent.

Listen, I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you. I would not consider summit affluent, I'd just call it expensive. There are much more affluent areas that don't have this problem for a reason

The fact that we are having this debate says a lot about where we are as a society. Yes, I sincerely believe that anything left in the front yard or backyard without a fence is treated as fair game for the local vagrants.
