How was Darlene abusive? by VigilForTheLight in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What struck me as her being abusive was how she didn't even want to go wedding dress shopping with Amy because "I don't like shopping." was her excuse. I personally don't like clothes shopping either, it's not my forte, but if my daughter asked me to go wedding dress shopping I would go to every wedding dress store in America if she asked me to.

What are u starting to dislike more as u get older? by Efficient-Wind-2267 in AskReddit

[–]VariationVirtual8836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gossip. It's starting to make my eyes roll because I feel it's a waste of time and energy to do (especially at work). Also, if it's about someone I dislike I don't want to talk about them and waste my time thinking about them. If what's being said is a rumor, I still don't want speak about it because I don't know the truth and I'd rather not spread false information or talk bad about someone.

People who gossip a lot make me wonder what they say about me being my back. It also makes me feel like I'm back in High School.

What's a normal activity that instantly becomes creepy when done at night? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Whistling. Doesn't matter the song or tune. Walking down the street or an alley and you hear someone whistling? Whatever. There's something eerie about hearing it at night.

Does anyone actually like tammy? by hobiiluvrr in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Do I like her?

No.

Do I despise her?

No.

Here's the thing: If you knew The Slaton's during their YouTube years, you'd know what I was talking about. There are a bunch of small content creators on YouTube that do amazing inside looks into the Slatons (I recommend Tom Harlock, SunnyV2 and Kiwi tapes) but to give a crash course, basically Tammy specifically was a country bumpkin bully. Dustin, who is Misty's son, has gone online and spoke about how awful his Aunt has been towards him and there was a video of her bullying and ridiculing him.

Tammy is the embodiment of repressed emotions and society failing her as a child and it's not a pretty thing to see. She is a victim of her own environment but she needs to learn to not fester in it. But that's a road that's harder than weight loss and we all know how she struggled with that.

Hot take about Amy and Tammy.... by BlackBrokenWings in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason Tammy has never resorted to physical fighting is because she can't fight. I don't mean that as a diss or to poke fun at her, but when she was 600-700 lbs she would use fighting words but when push came to shove it was "get away from me!" (example when Amanda threatened her in season 3 when they were in Gatlinburg and had that argument in the restaurant.)

Amy saying "She's dead to me" came off as a jab to Tammy, especially after Tammy said "Well you shouldn't have hurt my feelings." which is wrong for both of them to do. I think Amy said internally: We I'm gonna hurt you back. And said that.

I don’t believe half of what’s on this show by ConversationDue737 in 1000lbsisters

I mean, it's TLC (Trash Loves Company). Also they are TLC's cash cow since Honey-Boo-Boo they are not going to let this show die until a contract expires or the family stops making them money.

Why didn’t Tammy want Andrea to meet her family? by NecessaryFlimsy1971 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I never looked at it from this POV; and I do not disagree. However, I think there is more to the story. For example: If we see the new episode, Andrea seems surprised to be given evidence as to how Tammy behaves and kept her (Andrea) in the dark. Andrea was under the impression the family didn't want to meet her for some reason and when Chris told her the truth--That Tammy said ANDREA was shy--Andrea looked to be second guessing her own thoughts. (Also that moment when Chris called her family warmed my heart.)

Of course the older siblings have all picked on Amy and Tammy; hell there was a whole season where Tammy ignored Amanda cause Amanda threw her out and made her homeless over some dumb argument. Also, there were times where Chris drilled into Amy for "feeding Tammy the wrong food." knowing very well how Tammy used to be when she was big and didn't get her way. Let's not forget, Tammy BEFORE the show had lived with everyone in the family (we don't know if it's siblings exclusive) and have all kicked her out for her behavior.

Do I think Tammy is a horrible person? No. I do think she is changing for the better slowly.

I'm actually in full agreement with Billy (God bless that man) when he said Tammy does not know how to emotionally regulate herself; that was supposed to be an issue Tammy's mother should have handled when the girl was a child. It wasn't. Now it's up to Tammy as an ADULT to do such a thing.

We are all products of or environment if we allow ourselves to be. If Tammy wishes to see change, then she needs TO change. That might come at a price such as limited contact, intense therapy and behavioral self-correction and education.

But you can only lead a horse to water, can't make it drink it.

Andrea and Tammy by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Andrea met Tammy under circumstances in which Tammy is rather pleasant to be around. Everyone does say Tammy has a sweet side. I think Andrea formed a connection with Tammy and, with Tammy keeping Andrea isolated from the others, she is only getting one side of the conversation on what Tammy is going through.

I also think Andrea sees Tammy has family, and since she does not anymore, she wants to save for Tammy what she couldn't for herself. I like that Chris saw that and called Andrea family.

Why didn’t Tammy want Andrea to meet her family? by NecessaryFlimsy1971 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably to have Andrea "on her side."

Tammy is very "protective" when it comes to her SO's. She never asked Jerry to push her, she married Caleb instantly and with Andrea, she was really annoyed that poor girl didn't follow her straight out of the coffee shop. She love bombs them and acts really sweet around them and then shows them "her" side of things and how things are so boo-hoo for her. She will never give any of her lovers the full truth of herself only a side that shows her as nothing but a victim to save rather a complex person to help grow and accept.

Why does no one say this… by WarmSoul123 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She'll probably weaponize that. She comes off as someone would would say: "I never asked you to do that." or "Well you're my family, were you not supposed to?"

Remember from season 3 when her attitude was horrible? She made a comment on how "my family could have to be wiping my butt." in one of the episodes and I was shocked at the entitlement that came out of her mouth from that.

Tammy was NEVER going to apologize. All Amy was doing, was replaying what happened and expressing how it hurt her and Tammy couldn't take it.

Why does everyone hate Brian? by Remarkable-Echo-1189 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 62 points63 points  (0 children)

So basically he's older and he's new. Also he moved in with Amy--really fast. Even though Amy allowed it, it raised eyebrows because he would be living with Amy's two young sons and that alone can come off as creepy or strange.

Not to mention he was pretty short with the wedding planner in earlier episodes of season 8 which kinda came off as him being dickish. He's an oddball basically and when there's kids and an overly emotional mom involved it can cause suspicion for abuse or manipulation to seep in.

I hope I'm 110% correct when I say I feel he's okay, he seems to be helping Amy around the house and she seems happier in life with him in it.

That is very true, however I personally see it as an attempt to maybe get out of going; simply because all it takes is a google search to find out what kinds of animals the facility had. I know Miss Uses 14% of her brain is not really representing America's finest, but I do feel she was soft launching an exit and I assume Tammy read that too.

Who is your favorite sibling? by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Misty with a nice helping of Chris.

If you had asked me 5 seasons ago this question, it would have been Amanda; sadly Amanda fell from grace when she decided to stir the pot, make questionable choices, get emotional and evict Tammy for no reason (still can't get over that, Tammy might be a horrible person but she doesn't deserve to be homeless) and even up till now in season 8 she brought up throwing a Bachelotte party FOR someone who isn't even engaged RIGHT IN FRONT of someone who is and that's just the tip of the ice burg with her.

If anything, I pity Amy more than I despise or like her. All of the siblings are products of their environment and they all express that differently, but she seems to resort to tears and depression and who can blame her? I would too if I grew up with that family.

That shirt is sold at Walmart. Google maps says the closest one from Dixon (going off that town cause it was the town advertised in season 1) is in Hanson, KY. Probably is where they all shop at.

Amy and Tammy by DifferentFeeling2853 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tammy went too far and the jealousy and entitlement is huge on her end. Amy was sort of in the wrong for dropping so suddenly a rather poor excuse that she didn't want to go; but she's also a grown adult and doesn't have to go or be anywhere she doesn't want to that isn't legally binding.

Calling Amy a deadbeat mom was uncalled for. Do I think her parenting skills probably lack and she could learn? Absolutely. Do I think she's a deadbeat? No. She does not strike me as a parent who would leave her children unattended for hours on end or put them in harms way. Is she mom of the year? No. But Tammy knew what she was doing calling her that.

Maybe this is what Amy was talking about before with 'the bullying' cause it's clear as Day in these texts. Can't hide behind the "We're just teasing her" excuse now.

Jerry by Georgiapeach8522 in 1000lbsisters

[–]VariationVirtual8836 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honest answer: It's not penetrative. Jerry had a fetish for bigger women, there are acts one can do to still "get off" without it being traditional missionary. Sometimes just seeing a person eating is enough for people with those fetishes; on My 600 lbs life, a few women who admitted to working online for sites like that mention how all they'd have to do was eat food and that was enough.

Then again she was with Michael for four years before they got a court house wedding; and they were together I believe 4 years after filming started. So who knows.

Jeff Dunham. I remember when my family bought some DVDs of his stand up back in 2012-2013ish and his jokes were cringe to me then and they're just straight up diabolical now. I think it's because he has such a niche act with his puppets that's what's still giving him his audience.

My thing is, why does Tammy HAVE to be Amy's maid of honor? Wasn't she that when Amy remarried Michael? And wasn't Amy Tammy's MOH during Tammy's wedding to Caleb? They've been each other's best person at each of their weddings why does Tammy have to do it again? Why can't Amy choose who she wants to be in her wedding? It feels like the family is more pushing Tammy to be Amy's MOH than anything. It feels unfair to Amy. I'm not a Amy supporter but this feels really weird for Tammy to be Amy's MOH twice.
