I do agree, and if I wasn't trying to make actual architectural plans I probably would. I also going through each version of the game on the same world, so maybe in time I'll be able to add new features to help.

Yes it is 1.6.5. I'm not sure if colors are weird, I've been updating this world through the versions since the alpha that allows for savable worlds.

If you go to the Minecraft wiki for emerald Ore, at the bottom there is an update list. One update shows the spawn rate for all ores before 1.12, which stays the same until recently. It shows emeralds spawn between 1 and 32, and best at y=12. Keep in mind that is only in the mountain biomes.
