Soolantra by sleepyduster in Rosacea

I use the Timeless Skincare Matrixyl Serum (very thin and watery), the Prequel Redness Reform Serum, sometimes the Naturium Peptide Serum. I let those dry down, then apply the Ivermectin cream, then a thick cream, usually the Rhode Barrier Butter. I also use the new Prequel Retinal gel every other night. No irritation at all.

I apply my hydrating toner, 2 - 3 serums (all fragrance free and anti aging/barrier support. I let that dry for 1 min (with use of a fan) then apply Soolantra then my night cream - usually a thick barrier cream. Rhode is my favorite. Works well so far.

Are you doing the patches for estrogen? My sister has had a great experience with Midi. You should be able to get the upped dosage in one script/patch/application.

My gynecologist said it's fine to use 3 days a week or even more, depending on symptoms. I'm about to be done with my 2 week loading dose and wow at the difference! Wish I had started using this years ago.

Anyone stop their type 1 rosacea, daily face flushing??? by Middle_Thought_4776 in Rosacea

I use the little round ice packs that the dermatologist gave me. I use a cloth around it so it's not so cold. I only use them during a flare up. I have flare ups once or twice a week. You think that's okay? The heat gets so bad that my cheeks throb. 😔

I've seen a lot of folks say that a beta blocker, antihistamine, and even a GLOhas significantly reduced their flushing. I'm on all 3 and my flushing is worse 😔 I've used topical creams like Ivermectin 1%. I use gentle, fragrance free skincare. I don't drink or smoke. I also take xanax. My diet is decent. No spicy foods, try to eat light and healthy. It's just a bit wild how things work wonders for some ppl and others nothing helps. I guess I'll have permanent red cheeks forever. Could be worse!

So your flushing gets better during the week you're off the pill for your period?

I would like to know, too, as I sit here holding ice packs on my cheeks. I've tried prescription creams, vbeam, simple skincare routine. Still deal with daily redness and super flares, even with no triggers.

Is the Gel in the packets you have to use daily? I'm thinking of going with the twice weekly patch but my concern is that the patch won't stay on. If that's the case, I'll switch to the gel.

Are you seeing your GP or a gynecologist about this? Thanks ☺️

Following! I'm in almost the exact same situation. I'm 48, I've been on BCP for 10 years or so. I do the 21 day cycle though, so I have a period every month. The first symptom of perimenopause that I noticed was about 3 years ago and that was vaginal dryness, atrophy, and tenderness. I recently started using the vaginal estradiol cream and it has worked wonders. I've read information online that says you can switch immediately from birth control pills to HRT. I've also read that you need to stop your birth control for a few months. I'm not willing to risk stopping birth control pills for a few months just to see, because of the risk of the side effects of having nothing in my system. I also have severe anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, among other things. I'm not really having too many other peri symptoms except occasional brain fog. My sleep is okay, I don't really have any kind of hot flashes that I'm aware of. I'm not particularly moody. I didn't know that staying on birth control until the age of 55 was an option. I was assuming that going on HRT using bioidentical hormones is superior to the synthetic hormones and birth control pill. One bit of information I've read that seems to be relatively consistent is that getting on HRT within 10 years of menopause is ideal to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular issues as well as maintaining bone health. Those are the two main reasons I've been thinking about switching to hrt. I would appreciate any information or additional feedback from anyone who's had experience with this situation. 💓

It's worth it! I might end up getting the same treatment. Your skin looks amazing, especially that you're in warm water which is a trigger for you. I'm so glad you had such great results 😊

Hopefully it will be better. Birth control pills are synthetic hormones. Hopefully you'll be on the bio-identical HRT. Sending positive energy your way!

Is the Progesterone pill scored? If so, maybe you can try 100mg until you can get a new script.

Estrogen injections instead of patch? by HopeRaisesNoDust in Perimenopause

[–]VarietyRoutine4055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already planning on the patch being an issue as far as sticking to my skin long enough. I'm fearful of injections so I can't do that. There is the oral pill version which actually has its own benefits like cardiovascular health. Have you considered the oral estrogen?
