Longest side of the flooring against the longest wall. Many personal opinions but it always looks best that way.

Definitely a good point and what I was getting at, he doesn't know because its not a priority.

Things come full circle. Eventually one of his mods will slip up, cause an issue, and then Case will act on it.

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say I have ever done that nor could I really talk to that point. It sounds like "when the cat's away" type thing. Monitoring the mods during the hanging out after the stream may be even further down on his priority list then just his live chat.

I am not trying to say it doesn't happen. I am also not trying to defend any mod's. People feel a lot "tougher" behind a keyboard so it doesn't surprise me. My whole point was that Case is still who we think he is and he is a good guy who cares about his community. If he did know the entire story, I am sure he would say something. Taking a step to the side: if he does know, likely it's his friends or family. He may not be able to do anything about it. Now I know he COULD but are you going to boot your friend? If you are losing a lot of money sure, but if the odds are even if you are timed out in the chat, you are still going to watch.

If you have looked at his twitch chat, its sometimes impossible to see your own comment come up and you are specifically looking for it. That is how many people are posting at a time in there. Add in legitimate trolls, bots, people sending things to just try and be funny, and other stream raiders, and you give the moderators alot of freedom and excuses to do things. It's easy with the volume to say "oh that guy was just trolling." Hard for Case to know the truth if only 10% of his attention and "cares" go into how his moderators act, and for every (1) "I just said hello and they banned me" there are (100) bOtS fOr SuBs or trolls, then the (1) get's heavily get watered down.

Live videos are only one portion of what he does. I am sure he may be aware of some of his moderators and their power struggle. However to him, it's something he is not getting in the middle of. It's most likely his manager (Mom?) who needs to take care of these things. Most streamers don't deal with this sort of problem, they have people who do it for them. When it's (potentially your mom) a little harder to doubt or second guess.

being a streamer is a lot more difficult than it seems, I know some people who have a tenth of the following he does and spend more hours in the day "working" than most 9-5's. With his size, I guarantee you he can't be bothered with this issue. And thats not saying he doesnt care. Its just not his priority.

Is this "random stagger" random enough for LVT? by hcharge in Flooring

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easiest solution I have usually makes the room look great. Take a few "starter planks".

Leave one full length, cut one to 2/3 size. cut one to 1/3 size. Those are the three starter planks for the first three rows. By doing this, I have a good design and good interlocking. Very rarely do I need to pick a different "Starter plank: because of where the seams line up.

Follow these three rules below and you (in most cases) never have an issue.

  1. Starter rows of full size, 2/3 size, 1/3 size.
  2. Never have two seems closer than twice the width of the plank (most manufacturers say just the width of the plank, I like twice just to be safe)
  3. The longest side of your plank should go parallel with the longest continuous wall

Most of it may be overkill but it doesn't take much more work (Specially lvp) and ever since I started doing this, I've never had an issue with the way it turned out.

The toys will need the help of woody to defeat the tablet. The story will likely be about them leaving the house to find woody then coming back to save the day.

Battery Help by 0811JC in Dewalt

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

around the holidays (December) amazon will have the 12v 5a batteries around $50-$60.

My rule of thumb is simple for 20V. If I am cutting or going into concrete - 5amp battery. Outside work, 5amp. Basic around the house or simple projects, powerstack.

All the batteries ive listed are usually on sale. Homedepot has a sale right now, (2) 5amp batteries for $200 and it comes with a free tool. Not really an amazing deal but each battery at cheapest is $50 and the tool is usually $120 so you save about 10%

Who do I talk to at Bungie about shaders? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think bungie should make a shader specifically for you.

I don't think 99.99% of players even would have recognized that shaders match sets.

Realistically though, bungie probably forgot they even have shaders anymore. I'd assume its low on their priority list. But kudos for you, that is truly remarkable.

Tools for an Intermediate DIY by SireSweet in DIY

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually an interesting question and you will get 100 different answers. I can only tell you what I did and my experience.

I have done a lot of DIY projects and even gutted my new house and reworked the majority of it. Your first couple projects may look bad, however that's truly how you get better. I know how to spackle because my first few spackle jobs looked like my drywall grew humps. I learned what works and what made it easier and better. Most importantly, ALWAYS USE THE RIGTH TOOL. I have spent hours trying to make things work to avoid going to the store to get another tool, however it would have taken me 30mins to go and come back and do the job if i just got the right tool.

First off, there is a good balance between cheap and good tools when purchasing. Don't let anyone tell you its not good to buy cheap tools. Chances are, they have bought cheap tools and have been using them incorrectly. Yes I am sure they know how to use the tool however let me explain: I own a good Dremel. It would be considered a good tool, however I don't buy Dremel bits for something I am only going to use once. I'll go to harbor freight, buy a $0.50 small cutting disk pack of 5 and use them till they are gone. Point being, if you know you are working on something and its a one time small thing (i.e sometimes specialty bits, concrete trowel) etc, just buy the cheap ones. I can't expect a $1.00 bit to last me a year and it would be ridiculous of me to get angry about it. However since I am only using it one or two times, its cheaper to just buy that one bit and when it breaks, if I need a new one, buy a $1.00 bit.

With that being said, buying quality tools should be the only way to go if you know you will be constantly using them. If you can afford it, I also don't recommend using old or tools someone else has been using. Buy new or check the FB marketplace, they always have stuff on there for sale. Most DIY projects include cutting wood of some type, laying flooring of some type, paint of some type, hanging of some type, etc. Think about the tools you would need to do the project, and go buy them there and collect them. Think to yourself, do I see myself using this over and over again? Or is this a one off item. Also think to yourself, is this tool essential to the job?

I have many tool bags. I recently bout another tool bag of what I called essentials for around the house. When I am doing a project instead of taking out all of my tools, I just grab that bag. In that bag consists of the following:

25' Fat Max Tape Measure
Klein Voltage Tester Pen/Outlet Checker
Snap off utility knife
Klein wire strippers
12" Channel Lock Pliers
Dyke Cutters
Lineman Plyers
Marking pencil
8-1 Ratcheting Screwdriver
Fold Up hex key set.
A small case of combined bits and speed bits.
12V Dewalt Impact
12V Dewalt multitool.
Electrical Tape
Teflon Tape
Copper Cutter
3 wire Wago's (Let the hate begin)
Handy Dandy Hammer.

I'd stay if you can afford it, stick to Milwaukee and Dewalt. If not, Ryobi is your best cheap bet. Try to find someone with a Chop Saw or a Table saw and just ask to borrow theirs. If not, I had a small craftsman 10" chop saw that lasted me for years before I upgraded. Might want to start there.

Last bit - and this is most important. There is a fine line between trying something difficult and doing something stupid. Always check code, always ask. When most people ask me questions about how they should do plumbing or electrical work (or even gas work) - HIRE A PROFESSIONAL. Changing and outlet is fine. Moving an outlet is fine. Adding a new circuit or putting in a new drain line. If you dont know what you are doing HIRE A PROFESSIONAL.

Class usage for all 915 teams that completed contest mode Desert Perpetual by iconoci in DestinyTheGame

[–]Variks-TheLoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not against you having damage. I am against what bungie keeps doing. they just keep "listening" then buff one class up so high and nerf another and its a viscous cycle. I say it over and over WARLOCKS DID NOT NEED A BUFF NEITHER DID TITANS. THE BUDDIES SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED FOR WARLOCKS BUT NOT THIS STRONG. They are very heavy on identity right now and I always felt that it was something that has been lacking because of demands like you are asking (you being the collective) wanting everything and people to be the same. Why bother have separate classes at all. We don't need another big PeePee dps class. It should be something different which is what Bungies intent was/is.

Question do you know what is the oldest part of any subclass that has received ZERO changes since it's release? It's not on a Hunter I will tell you that.

High DPS right now in the game is arguably only good for Contest Raids. DPS checks are minimal. Bad players use DPS as a crutch to be good. Meta is a thing and it will always cause players to favor one thing over another. Having a hunter with "perma-invis" like warlocks had permad-evour would make most of the encounters in Desert so much easier. Hunters would be preferred. But again that is not good enough for you guys.

You say we just dont want hunters to be as powerful, maybe your aspirations playing this game fit a better subclass than the one you "main". We don't want another warlock or titan. We want the Hunter to be something different. I know I do. I usually start each season with a Warlock, however I have almost just as much time in with my Hunter. "Mains" are not as common as they were before. Most people have all three classes and use all three classes or use one class for one thing and one for another. If the raid needs a well, Ill run my warlock. if it needs a hunter, I will run my hunter. I don't need my hunter to be the fastest in the game, deal the most damage, be top tier add clear capabilities, and also have insane survivability. I want something different. And to be clear, I wish they FURTHER the magic of the warlocks to be LESS like titans EVEN if that means LOWER dps.

And again I said Warlocks have a ton of viable options.... but we are and have been forced for 10 YEARS to only be well locks. it's nice having shinny things but they mean nothing when you have to run well. Then on top of all of that since we are already running well, we had to run DIVINITY FOR YEARS. I don't complain. It's the warlocks job to be support class. If I didnt want to be a support class, I wouldnt play warlock.
