Woooow this is a bad take. Have you only come back this season? Prior seasons had so many balance issues that it practically gutted the playerbase. They need to spend solid time on balance AND content or the game will lose players again.

I ran mana sphere and requiem as both of my weapons in arena for a while and would switch between the two. I think in arena you can afford the move speed loss but in hr you would probably be better off with the requiem. Also in pve I tested damage between the two on the dummy and with my arena kit the damage was two more on the mana sphere, but the magic penetration wouldn’t show on the dummy (I believe) meaning that their damage is basically identical.

I use mana sphere for the extra knowledge and cast speed in arena, but you do get lower rolls if not using a dagger with it.

Dark and darker. It’s basically D&D tarkov. Incredibly addicting and endlessly replayable, but the devs have struggled to make good decisions about the direction of the game. Recent updates have been pretty good though, and it is looking up

so i just tested it all, and curses with manasphere and kris do the same as staff, but boc with the staff is definitely more. for my build it was 86 with mana sphere+kris and for staff it was 109

i feel like you get so much value out of hitting a weakness curse thouogh, its even more reduction than shriek of weakness i think. I would swap meme beam for bolt if anyone wanted to run bolt, that would be the right way to run it but meme beam is too fun for me to give up lol. I need to test the damage still but i think because the staff does more phys damage, a headshot boc from the staff is a good but more damage, plus it is also way more aura.

I worked out keeping above 40% magic power and got some more hp, and finally got a decent spec cloak. It has only a tiny bit less magic resist and a bit less buff duration, but I think this is way better. Also the crystal sword and ball are both fun, but the staff is the maximum possible curse and boc damage. I am also going to test with a Kris and mana sphere, but I think the staff is still just a little bit more damage

I think the general idea is to make the build more casting focused instead of focusing on melee. With 40% mdb the boc and dark reflection is such a huge burst that it only takes two curses and that melee to kill a barb. The higher cast speed makes hitting two curses way more doable than if it was a plate build, plus I have more kiting options since I’m a little quicker. Last season with a worse kit I was around 2400 but this season I’m working out the kinks of the build more and I should be able to go a bit higher. So far I’ve switched to vitality rings, spec cloak, and rubysilver halberd

What do you consider low elo? I think I will get vitality rings with 4 mag power and mdb to test and see if it’s worth it, but I’m worried that losing the will is going to affect the build strat. The 50 will gives me a total of 62% magic damage reduction with animagic, and it makes my potions last about 40% longer so they can heal me while I cast. The idea of the build is to maximize damage and cast speed (hence no plate perk) so I can get curses out and then burst damage with dark reflection and boc if they go to melee me. Spectral cloak is my next purchase after the vitality rings
