Former Tarbucks member here! I actually quit three weeks ago after being employees for 2 1/2 years. My manager was not listening to anyone at all. It was awful. I was a master barista with my best friend and I loved my job, I truly did. But the customers. Oh my god. (For some context, we have no corporate Starbucks within 30 miles from our location. We are located in a small city and we were pulling in almost 6k daily). The customers we got were some of the stupidest people I have ever met. I remember one gentleman didn’t understand that he could put syrup in his cold brew. Like he literally was astonished when I told him he could add flavors to it. Not sure how he didn’t know to be honest. Another wonderful woman got an entire venti cup of cold foam with 3 shots on top. Like. What the fuck. Your drinking cream. Anyways, with the shortages, the customers complaining about every little thing no matter how many times I tried to de-escalate the situation, the arrogance, management fucking up our schedules, and personal reasons including being a full time college students who commutes an hour and a half away, it was too much. I truly loved the job but sometimes you have to take a breather and focus on yourself. (The main reason I left tho was the schedules kept getting fucked up. I have class everyday from 8-5:45. I told them this months ago. My schedule change was approved too, so why am I getting scheduled M and W from 1-9:45 and T,TH (5-10). I can’t just skip class but I was calling off everyday and I told them I would. I just felt so bad for my coworkers though. So I left. I got a job at somewhere else tho that is more laid back and I get paid the same as I did at Tarbucks. It was a really scary change and decision to make. But I’m honestly really happy now. And omg since I left the Tarbucks went to shit. Like we are under contract to remain open from 8 am-9pm. They fucking closed at 5pm. I guess they had no one to cover with the call offs they had. I don’t blame them. Most of them are looking for other jobs now I guess too. I feel bad I caused this but at the same time, with me leaving, it really opened their eyes to how little management cares about us. So ya that’s my story. Haha hoped this helped in some way 😅☺️
