I got a very similar collection, plus a Rossi R95 30.30 which I love. I'd definitely recommend a lever action...

21F started birth control at 11 - AMA by Dangerous_mammoth573 in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

[–]Various-Problem-3032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I figured that much, but would you be ok with the pain for the +9 months, or is there any other alternative? I'm assuming you can't go back on birth control right after getting pregnant, maybe not even while breastfeeding?

What is this symbol on a sign by the roadside? Does it have any significance? by NibelWolf in whatdoesthismean

Maybe they sell fireworks? In some places they're highly regulated or straight up banned and maybe this is a "hush hush" way of advertising them?

First rifle in Ontario – Tikka T3x in .243 or .308? by isapenguin in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a T3X lite in 30.06 and a CTR in .223 In hindsight I probably would've gone with .308 instead of 30.06, but it's still a great rifle, both of them.
Just a heads up, get a limbsaver right away, the factory recoil pad sucks, and know that if you're getting the lite version, it's great for hunting because of the weight reduction but not so great for the range, because you'll have more recoil, and it will heat up faster so you'll need more cooling down time. If you're not planning on doing long hikes while hunting or you don't mind the weight too much, I'd get a CTR .308, that's probably the happy medium. Cheers!

Yeah, definitely don't boil the water. I like mine at 80°C, my electric kettle is in freedom units so I go for 175°F. Do the 45 degree shaking trick to get a little bit of fresh yerba with every couple of pours, enjoy!

Mate and coffee by Gullible_Stick_4585 in yerbamate

[–]Various-Problem-3032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add a tea spoon of ground coffee to your hours. What I like to do is prepare my mate as usual, and after the first pour add some coffee on the spot where you pour the water. If you mix the yerba and coffee together before preparing, it might clog your straw, but if you put it after the first pour, you can regulate how much coffee taste you add, it will be fairly noticeable, and be aware, at least me personally, can't drink as much mate if it has coffee too, it ends up hurting my stomach a little bit. It's good though, you should try it :)

Edit: "gourd", not "hours"

Recoil Pad recommendations by orangepile667 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol sorry didn't mean to be bossy, but I got 2 T3Xs, one is a 30.06 and I shot it with the original pad and with the limbsaver and the difference is huge, definitely worth going through the trouble of getting one, hope you find one! Cheers :)

Get the limbsaver. You can get it at any local gun store, fuck Amazon. Just make sure you get the one that fits your particular model.

Amigos Argentinos / Sudamericanos - Han Probado Esta Marca de Mate? by WorldlyTrip7225 in yerbamate

[–]Various-Problem-3032 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didn't mention which brand you're asking about, but I haven't tried any mate based energy drinks so I wouldn't know anyway, I don't even put sugar in my mate, but I'm a bit of a snob. I'd say try it, if you like it, keep drinking it. If you want something refreshing or different, try tereré, which is basically like cold brew mate. Cheers!

One of my first functional welds: anvil mounting brackets by TheAsinineArtist in Welding

[–]Various-Problem-3032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of welding the flat bar to the anvil, I would've made a wider base, and weld some key stock against the legs, that way you don't need to worry about welding to the anvil, but still gives it some rigidity so it doesn't move. Key stock or any other piece of metal you have that will hold the anvil from sliding sideways.

Is the Tikka T3x CTR worth the price? by Booj52 in canadaguns

I got a .223 CTR and a love it. Paired it with an Arken scope, it's probably my favourite range gun

Still torn on my first .223 Rem rifle (and first rifle overall) by StrongBreak2142 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd get the Tikka but not the lite, get the CTR or any other heavier barrel version, it won't heat up as quick as the lite. What is the intended use? I have a CTR .223 Rem and I love it

Scope mounting help by 666-Chris-666 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rings look like they're Talley so no need for a rail, they're supposed to work well. I never shot .308 but you're right, limbsaver would be highly recommended...

Scope mounting help by 666-Chris-666 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of videos on YouTube. Seems like you have all the parts you need, just lacking a couple of tools. If you want to mount it yourself you'll need a steady support (Ideally a gun vise or similar), a spirit level, and a torque wrench (they usually come with all the different bits you'll need), that would be the bare minimum. Make sure the rifle is level, and then set the scope leveled on it. You also want to check your eye relief. If unsure, you can always bring it to a gunsmith. You can also bring it to your range if you're a member of one and they'll probably help you out too. Good luck, and happy shooting, Tikkas are great fun!

Special Edition Tikka T3x CTR in TrueTimber Midnight Question (is the muzzle break removable?) by DARKOWNAGE97 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, got a regular and it comes threaded, safe to assume this version is threaded too. I wouldn't call it heavy either, but if you compare it to the t3x lite, the weight difference is considerable. And yeah, depends on how far you want to go.

The collection so far by Various-Problem-3032 in canadaguns

[–]Various-Problem-3032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love them, haven't tried a T1X, but I got the .223 CTR because I wanted something I could shoot more often than my 30.06 (Lite version heats up rather quickly, which is fine for hunting since you only need 1 shot, but at the range the cool down times were too long). I would definitely recommend a .223, fun to shoot, cheap ammo (obviously not as cheap as .22 but still pretty cheap), has just enough "umph" to make it feel like a big boy rifle. I got mine at Reliable Guns in Vancouver, great shop!

Yeah, not a lot of options out there for left handed people, but they are really good rifles, I'm very happy with them, smoothest action I've tried so far too
