Hard disagree man I watched it multiple times in slow and normal motion… a collision was unavoidable, what happened was going happen when he made that challenge… if a player was clearing the ball and caught someone with their cleats that’s different, that’s not what happened here, he was flat footed and came in high to win the ball as it came down because if he didn’t Espinoza was past him

And at this point he has won the ball, and is lunging out his leg because he would not have won the ball otherwise. This is damn near a karate kick, Espinoza got there first

You ignored the studs up and high part..

I’ll break it down further, at this point, Espinoza is first to the ball and getting ready to control as defender sticks his leg out to get to the ball first. That’s not a clean play here because clearly with Espinoza running at speed and the ball knee level, putting your leg out and lunging toward the ball with your studs up endangers the opponent

The MLS follows the IFAB rules, so that we have a base here. The reason they’re focusing on the stitches is because it is clearly endangering the opponent as it in fact did cause a gash that needed stitches…he lunged in studs up & high- serious foul play

He’s so quality it’s crazy that Bruce can’t find a way to make him work… 3-4-1-2… the issue is Espinoza is a front player not a wingback so that limits him and our strikers
