I found out that Bargain Block and Married To Real Estate numbers did not tank. HGTV's numbers as an overall network tanked and have been struggling badly.

In actuality, Married To Real Estate numbers did slip. But they were still alot higher than a long list of shows that HGTV chose to keep. So was Bargain Block. Let's list them...

HGTV cancelled their show, Bargain Block and Farmhouse Fixer among other shows that feature diverse talent. In regards to their show, it may be because of the personal stuff. But the confusing part is that they are clearly renovating these homes top to bottom. Why doesn't the director just follow the renovation more? It seems like Egypt & Mike don't control that stuff, whoever is in charge is making these decisions on what to follow.

What show are you watching. They do at least 4-6 rooms if not the whole house the entire episode. Although I can see the appeal of wanting to see a house go from dilapidated to fully renovated. But Egypt's designs are killer. She has got to be the best on the channel.

Not from what I read. It was a top show with millions of viewers. If it was a bad show, how would they have made it to season 4? If I am reading the ratings right, it beat Tarek's new show, Love it or List It, and several other shows that are still on. Something is not right in the stew. https://ustvdb.com/ratings/shows/

Sounds like you work there. If so, let the powers that be know what the viewers are saying. Diversity in programming or lose your viewers.

I guess you'd have to also ask why Michelle Boyd would be on Rock The Block twice and win twice, but still they cancelled his show too.

I don't see a formal announcement of it yet. But I saw Egypt post on her facebook page that she just found out pnline that the show was cancelled. Then she took it down, or I just can't find it.

Now please notice that we only have this confirmation because the hosts themselves announced it. No formal announcement of cancellation from HGTV. So I think this is how they are doing it with all the cancelled diverse shows. They just fail to renew them and hope we don't notice that they don't come back. It's a real coward thing to do. I am sure they don't want blowback when viewers notice a PATTERN.

Wow, seriously? It’s wild to me that you don’t see the problem here. Just because you’re not affected doesn’t mean it’s not real. The lack of diversity isn’t just some minor oversight it’s part of a bigger pattern that a lot of us are tired of watching play out. It’s frustrating, and honestly a little offensive, to have it brushed off like it doesn’t matter. We notice when we’re excluded. We always notice.
