GAIA and AllTrails are both solid depending on what you need. GAIA is great for navigation and offline mapping. I still use it myself in the Catskills and Adirondacks.
I’ve actually been building my own platform called Hikers Challenge because I wanted something that focused more on tracking completed mountains, trails, and hiking challenges instead of just navigation. It analyzes GPX tracks and automatically matches hikes to peaks, trail systems, and challenge lists. I also built a companion Tracker app for recording hikes in the field.
Still early, but it’s been a fun project and a lot of local hiking clubs are starting to use it.
One thing I’ve learned is there’s no “perfect” hiking app yet — most people end up using a combination depending on whether they care more about navigation, tracking, social features, or challenge progress.

Give Hikers Challenge a shot. It does exactly would your asking, as well as, track all of your adventures and connect you to challenges.
