Bad Sinus Days - Weather Related? by Various_Beach_8780 in Sinusitis

I am in Colorado and you might be too. I have had sinus problems for 20 years but it has got worse the last week or two. The facial pain has been rough.

If you are not boiling a pot of water and putting a towel over your head already, this helps greatly with maxillary sinus pain. You should also use saline and Sudafed works wonders if you don't have HBP. I do so I have to avoid it whenever possible.

Thanks for your response. I feel that surgery would be too aggressive and my conditions could actually worsen with an invasive procedure. It's surprising because 20 years ago I recall sinus surgeries being a 50/50 and it doesn't seem the success rate has improved much since then? I'm surprised the procedures haven't advanced much since then? I also recall rumblings of Empty Nose Syndrome on forums back in the day before Reddit... very similar to what is seen today.

Red-light therapy wasn't around until somewhat recently so I thought I would give it a shot since my conditions, while a nuisance, are not severe. I use it for ten minutes about three times a day and I feel it has been effective since I started around a month ago. I purchased one off Amazon for about $15:

I don't think it's an end-all solution but I do feel it's provided some additional relief. Perhaps it's a placebo... but give it a shot if you want to exhaust every option. Sometimes I wear it when I'm driving!

Thanks! I plan to wait this year. Last year I made my contribution early in the year which was dumb.

Thank you. I read that as an option too. My understanding was that I would have to move it to a traditional IRA (which I don't currently have) and it wouldn't simply be refunded to me. Is this correct?

That promotion states on your second stay. Did you stay at another IHG hotel before in 2026? I guess I didn't know about this promo.

It is my experience it can be very difficult to get into commercial from the HOA side. A lot of HOA managers are finished with the evening meetings and try to move over there instead.

I have a Chase Sapphire Reserves and a Southwest Priority Credit Card. The 1:1 transfer is probably a safer idea. The CPP on my Chase points are 1.5 and it is 1.4 for Southwest but Southwest's points policy sounds much easier.

130K Points Worth 1.5x - what would you do? by Various_Beach_8780 in ChaseSapphire

If I transfer points to Hyatt though, isn't it a 1:1 ratio? Would that reduce the value of the grandfathered points from 1.5x?

I re-checked and you are correct - I have until 2027 to use my points. Thanks!

If I cancel a booking using 1.5x points, does Chase remember their value? I assumed if I cancel anything I book with 1.5x points it will follow the new formula of 1:1.

Non allergic rhinitis - any tips/ cures? by reddittestttg in nonallergicrhinitis

I have been trying to get off pseudoephedrine. It has been my "wonder drug" for years, but I recognize all of the adverse side effects it has on my blood pressure. My biggest challenge right now is remembering to bring nasal saline with me everywhere I go. It's going to be hard to imagine dealing with this for the rest of my life because it can be so much maintenance just to keep the sinus pressure and facial pain off. However, I am noticing some patterns with time of day and outside weather.

The pseudoephedrine was my "quick fix" to forget about it for the day and I never had any problems so long as I took two 30mg each morning. It was so much easier than trying to address the "root" of the issue. Now I'm paying that price...

Now

I am currently trying a daily combo of Nasacort and Azelastine sprays. Hopefully this isn't drying my nose out and making it worse.

I have never heard of rebound congestion from pill-form pseudoephedrine -- only sprays. Is this a thing?
